Is this a Cavalier ?

I think what is listed in this auction is not a Cavalier but a Vagabond without the file/SD .

If so it's surprising because the seller is usually very good at listing correctly.
Is it a Cavalier ?

No it's a Vagabond without a nail file, which is weird because it would mean that there is an unused layer on the knife (the thicker scissors and combo tool on one side give space for four thin tools on the other side).

Maybe the seller simply forgot to open the nail file for the picture? Or it is broken off?

Totally agree...

Exactly my thoughts.
Be interesting if someone bids super high for what he thinks is a rare variation.
I am surprised that this seller may be making such an error.
Bit late to correct it now, I guess.

You can always ask him, that way at least you know if it is worth bidding on.

I did send the seller a message asking if it's perhaps a Vagabond with unopened or missing file.
I have those models and wasn't interested in bidding .
I just thought the seller should know about the possible error and , if not too late, to correct the listing.
I'll report  the reply if I get a reply.

I contacted the seller.
Here's the exchange.

I think the Cavalier is actually a Vagabond
without the file (missing ?, unopened ?).
Check and correct if possible at this stage.

Gotta give her credit, she replied:
A vagabond has 6 tools and this has only 5, This may be an oddity - ??
Thanks for you observation.

Thanks for replying.
Look next to the blade ,I think you'll find the base of a broken missing file.
Cavaliers have a different layout and different tools .

" Nope, no broken blades, this may have been a specially made knife ? ? ? ? "

 I'll pass up this one.

Weird. If there is no broken blade there must be a spacer to fill an empty space next to the pen blade. Never seen that before, and it is a bit hard to believe. Now I have to know. I also sent the seller a message :D

I know, I also bought from them many times. Nice items and extremely fast shipping.

That's why I thought it couldn't hurt asking nicely and explaining what I meant.

If there actually was a spacer and the knife thus had only three thin tools on a four layer side, it would have made an unusual item and I would have considered bidding :)

Anyway, the reply I got:

I do see what you are saying, after careful observation with a magnifier, it shows the thing that we thought was a spacer was a blade that was opened all the way and broken off, We are going to end the listing. Thanks for sending this message.

Well done.
And that ,Sir, is why we are Swiss Army Knights - protectors of the Caveliers and the Vagabonds.
