I recall wanting the Virtua Boy when it came out. It was so awesome, right up until I played one. If I knew where my old NES was it would be all yours. Def
I think it's pretty cool how we've gotten both hardware emulators and good software emulators for all of the popular systems of old. As for really absurd demonstrations of how much horsepower current systems has over their twenty or thirty years older ancestors, I think https://archive.org/details/internetarcade is very striking. Emulating a full gaming system, in a browser... in a horrible language... No problem!
I would love to find a way to play Joust on my tablet.I go much further back than 8 bit games!Def
yeah, that is insane. I like the horsepower of new machines, I just like the simpler games. sometimes the new games seem more focused on game play and less focused on "how real can this look"?
If you want to go jousting pre 8 bits, get a horse and a lance. The Atari 2600 was an 8 bit system.

I somehow don't feel at all nostalgic about playing on a Timex Sinclair 1000. Just saying. Ah the memories.
I sold these a couple of weeks ago.
