Haller knives, what's your opinion?
on: October 07, 2016, 08:40:50 AM
Hello.
Anybody familiar with Haller knives? http://www.haller-stahlwaren.de/html/messer/

Many of them look like Chinese Warrior like jokes, but there is a store here that has some Damaskus and regular Heller knives on the screen that look nice, at least aesthetically, and prices go 85-150 euros. They look like nice presents, so I wonder, should I buy one? What's your personal experience?

I bought a Mora Classic No 1 and calmed down for the moment. What a razor! I plan to carve some wood.

The no1 is a great knife.
Make sure to keep it oiled though, they rust easily, espescially near seawater.

I think they are rebranded chinese knives. You can find same knives with differend names if you look more into them. Alltough they are not the lowest of quality. I think i have one or two laying somewhere, or had laying.

Olive oil would be good? I have plenty here, top quality and it's edible, since I might want to cut onions or such with it.

I don't want one for me, the Helle Skala and Spyderco Endura are great special substitutes for the Opinel Jardin I EDC. I just thought the Damascus ones would be fancy gifts.
