Day 22: Peanut again today!!
(Image removed from quote.)

 :like:

GDoolittle you have me looking at peanuts! I'm at  ace Hardware store today and headed to the Case knife display. Looking at the knives peanuts in particular when a salesman ask me if I need help. I replied "No not yet I'm just looking today I usually head to the knife display and have a look I guess its just a guy thing". He smile and moved along. But I may be buying soon.    :D

I either head to knives or tools in any store that has them :tu: and sometimes like at Lowe's the people there just don't understand that I am just looking :D

Also nice pic of the Peanut today gdoolittle :like:

Poncho: thanks! :hatsoff:

I have the exact same issue when I am shopping. I head straight for the knife case no matter where I am and if they don't have one, I just kind of aimlessly wander around the store wondering if I missed it somewhere

If you become a nut collector you'll be in good company. They have a large cult following.

Day 24: Stockman today! I like the blade combo, but prefer a trad to be a little smaller than this model.

On another completely random note, leatherman put a picture of a wave in an ad for the signal

Day 26: same exact carry for me today b/c I did not go home last night. I'm interested to see how this cv will take an edge once I try to sharpen it to my standards. My guess is much better than trusharp, which can be a pain in the butt sometimes for me, even though I can normally do s30v no problem.

It's a nice looking trapper :tu: :tu:
I haven't used a CV or true Sharp in a long time, if I remember right CV was a bit easier to work than True Sharp.
I found it worked best not to use much pressure on the stone so a wire edge would not form. A toothy edge about 300 grit seemed to hold an edge better than a polished edge on Case steel.
25 degrees per side on a blade that would see cardboard and no less than 20 degrees per side on a blade you wanted sharper.
Hope that helps.

Pretty well! Better than I expected honestly. Thats why ive been carrying it a couple of days in a row. It may be partially the CV and partially the convenience of not having to go into the backpack or backup stuff if i need a larger blade for something. The CV takes an edge much easier for me. I have the clip blade at about 40 degrees overall and the spey at about 30 overall. (I know I was advised for 50 and 30, but the sharpmaker just makes it so easy when you dont have a lot of time!)

When I settled on my 50 - 40 inclusive recommendation I was using a knife on a lot of cardboard at work. The knife was dulled beyond being able to use a strop, so it was getting sharpened on stones sometimes every day. There is no right or wrong it just depends on your usage.
