I'm in the intermediate camp - enjoy meeting friends and (most) relatives around Christmas for the visiting however can really do without the total commercialization.  I had fun over the last few months finding tools at the local flea market and thrift store for my son-in-law - some required clean up and paint and all were inexpensive but very good quality.  Also made a glockenspiel for my very young granddaughter and enjoyed it when she found the sticks great for chewing on and wasn't as intrigued by the instrument itself.

We had our dinner last night and had a friend over - good conversation and visit and very enjoyable.  Today (Christmas) it's turkey leftovers and quiet time.

I wish everyone on the forum and elsewhere a Merry Christmas and Happy new Year.  Thank you for your contributions to my threads and those of others - I for one, have enjoyed them very much.

One more day here, then a loooong drive again tomorrow, possibly into some bad weather at some point.  Hopefully that won't happen or get in the way too much, or we may have to take a hotel somewhere along the way.  By the time we get home we'll have at least 26 hours on the road and spent close to $1,000 between gas, food and the AirBnB that we stay at, and not even counting the gifts we brought!   :ahhh

I can honestly see why I am not a huge fan of Christmas!   :ahhh
