Blade West!
on: September 28, 2008, 04:57:48 AM
The show was fun, and omg  what amazing stuff.
I have some nice pictures, and I'll get them up some time tonight.

Leatherman had a booth there and they were a very cool lot, and gave me some nice info for tours at
the Leatherman Factory (even gave me a discount coupon for it) and said to call them for more
deals.

for now how about this picture for starters:

in the parking lot;

 the; "Leatherman-Mobile! :D

okay. I asked what was new, they showed me their flashlight line-up, I was impressed.

AAA, AA, and CR134 lights. rugged, high and low on the AAA and AA and high-med-low on the CR123
(don't ask me the lumens!)

Of course I wanted to see the real stars, the Multitools.
nothing new but I wanted to play with several models I haven't had
a chance to play with, like the Crunch and the Vista and Hybrid, they were sweet!

that Crunch is wild, took me a sec to figure it out!
I want one! :P

and they "Made" me take some pics of their knife line ::)
being a knife nut I don't associate LM with blades but I was
pleasantly surprised at their feel and detail, nothing to sneeze at :salute:

Again some very nice guys who were very polite and fun, thanks Leatherman
for the show and display, I enjoyed it

So they start in high? Not good. How does it switch mode, is it half press like fenix or do you have to click through all three to turn it off, or soemthing else?

I like their new knife thou, looks better than the older versions.

sorry, it was low to high. but!~ it was a clickie and you can switch modes by either twisty or (and this was sweet)
"tapping" the clickie! full press it went on-off, a light tap and the mode switched low to high! it was pretty nice.

so the idea was, easy one hand operation, which it was.

So it's basically like fenix then, how does the twistie factor into this? Work like fenix too?

when I twisted the head, the mode changed (low-high and back when I tightened it),
not the preferred method (power interruption?) but it worked.

The way it is designed to switch is a light tap/touch on the clickie, which worked very easy.
