Etherealicers Signal Challenge
on: January 01, 2017, 12:30:10 PM
Ok, I have to admit, I didn't follow the Signal chatter closely and didn't look at it carefully when I got it. So bear with me if I repeat the obvious. But then, this is why I'm in it, to get to know the Signal.

The awl has a kink close to the tip, from where on it gets wider/fatter again. Anyone know if that serves a purpose?
The awl sits in the same slot as the blade. If LM upgraded the Wave/Surge/Charge in similar fashion they would gain room for 4 (FOUR :o) tools.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Opened a calendar yesterday. The blade worked well enough for that, I also modded the Signal a bit.

Thanks, I'd be interested to see if this is common or mine just a dud.

Replaced the saw... a wood saw in an office seems rather useless, I had uses for a metal file though (sharp computer cases).
After that much work I needed a lemonade. Pear & rosemary, definitively not may favorite flavor.

First off, that whistle/fire-steel plastic part is rattling a lot, I don't like it :viking:

Used the screwdriver during lunch break to move a closet drawer rail. Its OK, but like all MT screwdrivers, it needs quite a lot of room to operate.

I did that (makes it very long).
You should have a second look at the image, the Signal is held in place by the screwdriver (and the hammer standing on the wall), he is not touching ground. With the long configuration it would have fallen down.

I got some pics of the awl today. It does not look nearly as "thick headed" as yours. I will measure as well, the 'ol eyes cannot see all the finer details any more.

Yes and it is very nice :dd:

I wished LM would give options for different colors as there seems to be many that don't care for the yellow

Agree with that. I can see the use for yellow in the bush, but having say yellow, black, red and orange as options will be cool. Or maybe a rainbow option, now that will be nice.

I'd rather have a Ti option to be honest. Don't like the plastic parts.
Even cooler would be, if options would include other implements. E.g in the space of the Whistle/Firesteel, they could make a holder for 2 bits.

Ti would be wonderful, but the $$$

I have been toying with this idea myself, but have not yet had the time to wreck a perfectly good whistle to see how it will work. I have posted a pic in another thread with a bit where the fire-steel goes. With a bit of modding I think one extra bit will fit.

That is probably the better option, but whistle will be completely trashed.

Yes, I would drop both, whistle and fire-steel. Personally, I have no use for either.
