Anyone else have a dog who hates fireworks?

Mine is freaking out at the moment. I used to love the 4th but now I have to deal with her freaking out all night. Anyone else?

Our dog was the worst around them, he'd burry his head into your lap and whimper nonstop. I used to have a dog waaaaaaay back who freaking loved them, heck when one fell over and shot down the street he'd start running after them..

Milo just used to bark constantly at them, I think because he was frightened. Now he's going deaf he doesn't hear most of them so it's not as bad as it used to be.

All dogs in the neighbourhood hate them. We regularly have firework shows where I live and it escalates to a concert of blasts and barks.

Hey Cap - you can get a shirt called a thunder coat that is quite tight fitting on the dog and it (don't know how) comforts and calms them. They're used for firework nights, vets visits and seperation anxiety. Never had to use one, but have heard good things from friends.

George and Henry never had problems with fireworks, they ignored it all. Mind you they pretty much ignored everything

One Labrador we had during my childhood didn't give a smurf.....all the rest have and do freak out

My dog (Blackjack) doesn't love it but deals with it pretty well He justs goes to the backyard and tries to avoid it all

None of my dogs ever had issues with fireworks or thunderstorms, at least until now.  Megan's dog Jackson flips out whenever he hears a loud bang, be it thunder or fireworks.  It's very frustrating as this often happens when we are trying to sleep and suddenly be woken up by frantic and sudden barking for absolutely no reason.

I'm glad that, historically speaking none of my dogs have had that problem, although my old husky did have a thing about windstorms, but that comes from feeling the house sway under him in a hurricane, so that's understandable at least.

My dog, Hercules, didn't have a problem with fireworks nor was he gun shy. Didn't have any problems with storms either. About the only thing he didn't like was a bath.

My little guy isn't bothered.  He came outside where we are about 10 miles from the show and went right back in.  We could hear and see the show from out backyard.  The dogs in the area however were going crazy.  It was loud and with clear skies they lit it up. 

He does however go nuts when he hears a doorbell or any knocking sounds.

Soul never was that bothered till about a year ago,my wife put him out in the garden and someone let off one of those loud fireworks,he launched himself into the backdoor  now he hates fireworks and loud thunder  Here in the sumner time we have fireworks every Thursday and Friday it's a pain in the #ss

Galileo was sporting his deepest loudest, most sudden bark of all time yesterday.    I ended up putting him in the sleeper hold...

I used to box with my dog when she was younger. I still do but I am much more gental now. She loves it.

My old dog Jasper hated fireworks and thunder. She would hide in the bathtub, pretty smart dog 

Rosie on the other hand doesn't get bothered at all with loud noises. She does like to howl the first wednesday of the month at 1 pm when they test the Tornado warning siren.

my chocolate lab (water dog) HATES water. Hates bathtubs, swimming pools, lakes... you name it. That's the LAST place he would hide, lol.  He usually makes a feeble attempt at hiding under some shelving.
