My apologies to Grant & the Forum.

I let it go a few times. Figured it was time to respond.

Sorry, Grant. If it's too much. I'll rephrase.

Great job Dr. Z.  I would like to add something, if it is okay with you.

Both Multiprim and Gregozedobe have good points- perhaps not stated as well as they could be  :pok: but good points nonetheless.

You never can be sure that something is legitimate, and I would very much hate to have something bad happen to a member, especially if it is something that was sourced from here.  Identity theft and other potential hazards are indeed legitimate concerns nowadays and you should all take precautions to ensure that your risk of exposure, here and everywhere else, are minimized.  In that, Greg is absolutely correct, and I don't think anyone, even Multiprim is in disagreement with.

That having been said, the world has been bubble wrapped enough, and, I feel that it is up to the individual to decide where their safety margin is.  I don't think that stopping someone from posting risky propositions is the way to go either.  If it wasn't for risk, we wouldn't have most of the things we have nowadays- we'd have no heroes to look up to, no internal combustion engine and, perhaps most damning, no Subway Sandwich shops, because the founder almost went out of business with his first store, but decided to double down and open a second.... and that's when the brand took off.

You are both right, and there's not much point in fighting about it.  Greg- you were doing well to look after other members, and I hope you never stop.  Multiprim- you were trying to help folks find some deals that may have been legit.

Maybe in the future, rather than reading insult into eachother's posts, we can meet in the middle and realize that we are all in it for the betterment of MTO and it's members.

And if you don't then I'll turn off the smurf filter and tell you both how badly you smurfed the smurfing smurf with the smurf in the other smurf with the ten foot smurf and a donkey.

Twice.

And trust me, no one wants that.  Hell, just getting the stains out of the ceiling is enough to kill a whole weekend.

Def,

You are my hero (yes, there's brown on my nose, I'm US Mexican).

Well said. Btw, a black light does wonders (for the stains, that is).

Btw, Grant, when you said, "Greg is absolutely correct, and I don't think anyone, even Multiprim is in disagreement with.", I totally concur. It wasn't until the whole "...If you are really that gullible ..." and "...Are you just trolling or what ? ...", that I felt it was time to respond.

Anyway, thank you, Sir.

I read thru this thread, and want to chime in on my own experience. I once jumped in a LM Surge deal from a zero-feedback seller, whose listing got pulled a couple hours later. By then, I realized I just gave a scammer a lot of information about myself: eBay username and activities, real name, phone number, and address, email address... Nowadays, when I see such listings, I just ignore or report to eBay. Granted, legitimate sellers get the same information too, but those rarely have use of your information (the most I got from them are likely ad mail, newsletters...).

The code I live by on eBay is simple: if the seller knows what he is selling, have a clear description of the item for sale, and still have unreal low price... then that listing is highly suspicious (especially with zero-feedback and free shipping). Also, contact the seller, and read the response. Scammers from China, Hong Kong... tend to address you as "my friend" for some weird reason

Once in a while, I get some really good deals from people not knowing the true value of what they sell. You can somewhat figure that by the way they word in the listings.

Stay safe, and happy hunting
