Any fans? I got my first one off Tony as a gift a few years back a cadet, there well made and I've owned a few Buck 110 and 112 and do like hunting style lock knives ,well my nephew a few years back joined the RAF so I felt he needed a good pocket knife ,well he loves it and carries it alot ,but I missed that knife, well I did a deal with a nice guy called Jim( I'm trying to get him on here lol) and the main thing I wanted was this Puma 465 Back-packer date coded 1980, he said it wasn't locking up well so I was a bit worried, well I oiled it and sat and opened and shut it alot of times and vhola sorted  :tu: locks up solidly and no blade play and straight when closed,I'm well happy having one back.so show your hunting lock knives  :salute:

Sorry, Paul. Not a fan  :(

I don't mind the looks of some of them, but back locks are a "no go" for me. I have had a couple in the past, and got rid of them very quickly.

I'll take a slippy version or a fixed blade version, but me and backlocks don't get along  :salute:

Fare enough Al  :tu: me I love them as my first lock knife was a 110 copy I picked up on 1st year camp when I was 11, since then I've always liked them, I look forward to using this one as looks like it will be good for skinning and gutting fish, don't get me wrong I don't collect hunters as ones enough ,and after trying a few this ones for me  :salute:

I don't have any anymore, but used to have a buck 110 that carried with my SAK when I was growing up. Loved it right up to the point til I snapped the blade on a frozen bale of hay trying to cut the plastic wrap off of it.

Also, leave it to Al to be the first reply and hater in Zed's thread.

Just messing with Al.  :D

(Image removed from quote.)

I had a 112 Steve ,lovely knife ,kind of prefered it's size to the 110 as for a larger blade I carry a fixed blade  :tu: like the finger grooves as well  :salute:

My Buck folding hunter went AWOL a long time ago. I still have some however. The three blade Fox with stag scales is the one I like best.

Another thing I noticed is a evolution of the blade on puma blades on my model,I'm guessing due to the better quality of the older knives, sadly like many manufacturers puma do have knives assembled in China now  :-\ Any way mine has a very pointy blade that's 37 years old and still going strong ,but looking at the same model over the years till now it's not so pointy,I'm guessing there Rockwell hardening is not so good, mine has the little punch Mark but I don't think the newer ones do  :-\

You 4 shall not stand alone. I have an old Schrade Old timer that resembles a Buck 112

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Another just in,New schrade lb8 papa bear,  I had one many years ago so fancied trying a new one, have to say the fit n Finnish is really good and a solid lock and feel, came sharp out of the box, and the sheath is very well made of premium grade leather, I need to get out camping to try it out  :tu:

Sure is Steve .
I know I know it's Chinese made But it's very nicely put together, yes I would love a older U.S made lb7/lb8  but there pretty hard to come by over her and getting harder all the time, I had to choose between the lb8 lb7 or 7OT  ,there basicaly all the same knife and this one looked prettier  :D plus my old one looked the same but oddly I'm sure my old one said lb7 on the blade but had staglon scales  I guess I'll have to Google  ;)

Here's an assortment.. The Buck 110 was a regular carry on camping and fishing trips. Cleaned a fair amount of fish and small game.

That's a Beretta. Made in Italy, probably by Maserin. Includes a shot-shell extractor (12 & 20 gauge), common on Italian hunting knives, though I'm not sure why. Everyone else seems to make do without them.
