A custom fixed blade
on: August 02, 2017, 11:06:55 AM
Now I do like a good fixed blade, be they factory

or custom

Now at Blades UK this year I bumped into a knife maker who wasn't exhibiting there but just having a look around and chatting with friends, Scott Williams from Wessex Blades and Bushcraft. He did hint at the time that he would be opening his order book soon and he has.

So the knife I've settled on is the Boudica in Elmax 61HRC, the rest of the spec I'm keeping to myself until it arrives, sorry chaps  :twak:

But why Elmax Mark? Well I want a knife that can be used as a skinner and to be honest none of the factory skinners have really grabbed me, plus I'd rather give my money to individual craftsmen (or women) who can provide me with a product they are proud to put their name on, I should also point out that so far, the custom knifes I have bought have cost me far less than the mass produced factory knives

But it will look a bit like this

And here's an example of his leatherwork

So all I have to do is wait for it to arrive  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

Seriously though, if you're wanting a custom fixed blade, have a look and get in there fast before he closes his order book

Unusual knife style, Mark. There's something a bit ye olde about that somehow. I'm trying to thing what it reminds me of
