Leatherman Warranty...I gave it a shot
on: June 09, 2007, 06:29:07 PM
I sent in one of the $10 Waves I got here recently with a letter generally saying I'd like it tighened up a bit, and if there was anything they could do with the (minimal) play in the plier heads.  The Wave was in good working condition, and even if I had bought it used for $30 I would have been satisfied...but I figured I'd send it to Leatherman and see what their response would be.  I was going to cut off the awesome diamond file and keep it before I sent it, but I thought that would be pushing my luck ;D

I sent it UPS ground to Washington state, and they received it on the 7th.  I was just curious what they do from here...do I get an email confirmation/tracking info that they are sending it back?  How long does it usually take for them to look at it?

I must confess, I've never had any warranty experience with Leatherman.   ???

I sent the warranty dept an email inquiring about the status...sometimes my Hotmail address doesn't let emails through, so maybe my Wave is on it's way back already and I never got the email..I don't know..the suspense is killing me  :multi:

No problem, I wasn't trying to be nitpicky....but I was thinking that if you really DID send it to Washington, you might be waiting a looooong time to get it back!  :D

I got a response today..it seems they are behind in the warranty dept.  They are working on tools that arrived on the 4th, and mine was received on the 7th..so another week or so before they even get to it.

We will dispatch one half of our expeditionary forces to each location and comb the landscape in search of the missing MT  :salute: :salute:
