Have they gotten more strict? I've shipped there in the past without issue.

I am doing an experiment... I ordered some fixed blades and multitools and one OH opening knife.  We'll see if the package makes it, whole, only the legal items or if the whole package gets flushed.

The border guards (Canadian Border Services Agency, or CBSA for short) has decided to re-interpret the existing laws based on the results of case law to prohibit the importation of one handed opening knives.

I'm not allowed to say anything publicly about this, but if I was you can bet it would include being grateful that all of the terrorists and illegal narcotics and weapons that are being smuggled in have been stopped, and CBSA is obviously bored and looking for something to do.

OH opening knives are not illegal to own, carry or use in Canada, it is (so far anyway) just a reinterpretation of the law in CBSA's jurisdiction, which is importation.
