Recall on the Buck 110 sold at Walmart?

Ok. Been reading about the possibility on here and a search saw mention of the same on Reddit.

Does anyone know anything about this?  I have a Walmart sourced 110 and need to know if it’s safe to use.

The comments on Reddit were from February... and Walmart has stopped selling the 110 and more than a few have been told due to recall.

Anybody indicate what the concern might be? It's such a bullet-proof and simple design, it's hard to see how an issue (aside, maybe, from a bad run of steel) could arise.

I saw nothing on the Buck website. Perhaps, call Buck tomorrow and ask if there is reason for concern. Let us know what they say.  :cheers:

I think it is a Walmart thing.
You can still buy the 110 at Academy, Cabellas and Amazon.
Lowes had them on the shelf today.

I doubt it, unless some idiot tried to sue because it was too sharp (and believe me, it's one of the sharpest knives I've had out of the box, even better than Vic). Haven't used it a whole lot (with the challenge, I'll probably start tomorrow), but I can say there's absolutely nothing wrong with it and that is compared to a late '70s 110 and 112 that are well used.


I think Walmart simply discontinued it due to the 110LT, which I'd say will be a bit cheaper than even their version of the 110 with the nylon sheath was.

They told me it was on recall at one of my local Walmarts :facepalm: I believe it is to do with the lower than everyone else price :-\ When or if they bring it back I am thinking the price will go up with it :rant:

That was something I was told well over a month ago I think :think: About the recall, the price gouge that will probably come later is just what think about it ;)

Menard's and Dick's Sporting Goods both have Buck 110's in stock.

I think Poncho is right about the price difference between Walmart and the other stores.

Walmart has always undercut the other stores on the price.
