I like micarta depending on how it's done, it can have a utility appearance or be very nice and dressy.

I have both varieties.  Very classy and very utilitarian.  I like both a lot. My Rat 3 fixed blade is very utilitarian and really nice with wet hands.  Kinda my go to for jobs where I know water will be involved even with the carbon steel blade.

Great assortment of blades dks  :tu:

As long as it falls within the set guidelines, as provided by the thread heading, I see no legal hurdles in you posting your hand and home made creations, your micarta loin products.

Here are a few. Some are full handles and a couple just have small Micarta inserts. The tri-edge dagger looks like it could have been a handmade assassin's tool.Came out of a large military collection that a friend of mine bought and sold me a bunch of non military stuff out of it. Don't think he thought it may have been a military piece.
First three pictures are Khyber knives in different sizes.First production knives using Micarta handles as far as I know.
Fourth pic is the tri-edge dagger.Handle is contoured so it cannot slip in either direction. Likely made out of a three cornered file.

A few more:
First is a Mountain Shadow lockback with a Micarta insert in the small groove in the bolster.
Next is another Mountain Shadow knife with an insert and Micarta handles.
Third is still another with Micarta handles but missing the insert(it was missing when I bought the knife)
Last is a Blackie Collins designed knife called the Argonaut made for Bench Mark Knives with unusual gray Micarta handles.

Last page:
A close up of the Bench Mark handle from the last post.
The last knife is a very unusual piece. It appears to have a hand made blade and a handle tha was made from a single piece of steel. The blade is pinned to the handle and it is very closely fit(no wobble). The Micarta handles are very old looking.I've owned the knife for about 40 years and it was part of the military collection that the dagger came from.

Funny, it started with modifying a CS GI Tanto, and not being able to afford (or willing to spend) what knives with Micarta handles cost........so I made my own.

And modding became making  :salute:

I think Micarta is the ultimate, strong, durable, practical and you can get very creative.

Nice knives everybody!  :salute:

A couple more:
#1 & 2: A custom slide blade dagger marked EL. To deploy you have to push down the buttons on either side and slide the blade open. Requires two hands so it is technically not a gravity knife.
#3: A large handmade dagger marked LJM with Micarta spacers for the handle.
