:tu:  I like those Knipex plierwrenches.

The combination of the smooth jaws and extra mechanical advantage for greater gripping force are great for loosening (and tightening) stuff that can be marked by "toothy" grips.

Definitely useful for plumbing. Doesn't mar nuts.

I love all my Knipex.  The Pliars wrench 150 is compact and well just awesome.
I teamed it up with my Spirit XBS to change our broken mower chute today.

Since you are already committed to buying, let's make sure your cart is full. Have you seen these smooth jaw pliers from VBW? :pok: >:D

I don't have any VBW pliers yet, but they are on my list.

I can more afford the VBWs than the Knipex, go ahead and get some and let me know how they stack up.  :D

Powernoodle, that is one very nice EDC setup!

Thank you.  With the Knipex Pliers Wrench, I don't really "need" an MT.  And the Knipex does not chew up the bolt/nut like the serrated jaws of an MT.

A couple of days ago, I had the occasion to replace the battery on my mother's 2009 Chevy Silverado.  I keep a 10" Knipex Pliers Wrench in my vehicle, and it worked well to remove 4 bolts and a brace so I could access the battery.  The Pliers Wrench basically replaces a complete drivers set.

I figured a Knipex 250mm plier wrench and a 180mm Cobra would be suitable Xmas gifts.

Just out of curiosity I decided to get one of the new style plier wrench. Looking good, but somewhat harder to distinguish from a Cobra just by a quick look. Not too many differences from the blank style - I notice some new grip grooves, a scale from 12 to 52mm opening, and possibly a new steel. (I seem to remember some old ones were marked with S2 - this one is not).

The 180mm Cobra is a nice size for tight or narrow spaces.

Anyway, as I'm giving them away I wont get to play, try or abuse them. Used tools make for somewhat odd gift. That said I'm a willing recipient!  :D (Santa, are you listening from your exile in Finland?)
