Small change to the long tools.

Figured the Gerber BE is taking up too much space and while the carbide saw is good, its not the best for everything.. Its a cut-all type of saw but doesnt quite excel at anything.. Since I already have a good dedicated saw for both wood and plastic, a metal saw will fill in very nicely. Added a SE blade and give it a bit of quick sanding to take away the boring matte grey finish.

I have a lot of tool parts lying around.. cos I break more things than I fix....  :P

Very nice, Sam! :like:

Pair that up with a MiniTool and you have everything you could need on an MT in your pocket. :multi:

I made something out of the fake Gerber handles this afternoon with a blunt-modded real Gerber plier head that would go well with your Gerber tool chest.  :D

Mini for size comparison. :)

Hi baby MP :D I was just thinking that I just need to pack another mp (for the pliers) without any internal tools to lighten the load. Could anything be done with the lock part that u have chopped off? Incorporate that onto a smaller tool maybe? Had thought of something similar. Was thinking if that can somewhat be fitted onto a OG wave.

I cut the ends off without thinking about using them.  Since the handles are from the fake 600, the pivot stuff won't work for Gerber stuff(and the implements got trashed in a torture test some time back). Well, at least I wouldn't feel it would be worth trying to make bushings to make it fit Gerber implements. I did salvage he springs to fix one of my NXTs where a lock spring shot across the house(MP lock springs were to big for the NXT, but the knock-off springs were thin enough. :ahhh

I will say that the cut down tool I made is quite effective. More than I had expected them to be. I'm sure you can figure out something more refined for the idea. :tu:
I guess the narrow splay makes the short handles easier to manage. It is easier to grip with than the LM MiniTool(from the testing I have done this evening).

Thank you RP, D_T, and ddogu!

It's kind of a prototype that would go well with Sam's Gerber Toolchest. No redundancy and the "MP200"(as RP coined it.  :D ) is super light-weight as well. :)

Sam,
How much does your Gerber toolchest creation weight?

I'll weigh the MP200 this evening. I am sure it is very light. The fake Gerber handles are also , thinner metal, so it is lighter too(still very strong though). :)
