I need to make myself a pine needle tea sometime, supposedly it's really good for you  :tu:

Day 3

(Image removed from quote.)

Broody pic, Borg  :tu:

Pine is not native to my area (though there are endemic species of pines in Tasmania), so most pines you find are planted/plantation Pinus Radiata or "Monterey" pines.
I'm not too clear on whether these can be used to make pine needle tea or not

Day: 06

Had a little yard work to take of today.

I use bamboo stakes lashed together with twine to build supports for my tomatoes. Lyndax made short work of the disassembly process:

We have a juniper tree with a few dead branches that needed trimming. One well placed chop was all it took to make a clean cut. Nice!

Nice usages and great looking photos  :tu:

Went for a short walk and played with saddle axe. Found a small down cottonwood tree. after peeling off the bark I used both bits to make shavings. The saddle axe is a general purpose axe and cant be expected to perform like a dedicated wood craft axe. Even tho it has 25 degree and 32 degree bits. It is still a general purpose axe. It did well enough for me that I'm satisfied with its performance in this little test.
That is such a unique axe.

The FastHawk made quick work of packages when getting the Halloween candy dish loaded up... not that this will last till Halloween.
Sure wouldn’t last at my daughters house! She would be buying more in no time!

Day: 06  (bonus material)

Making some soup for supper this evening. Lyndax sliced up an onion. I split the onion in half, first. This was more of 'split' than a 'cut'. However, once halved, she sliced like a pro:

(Image removed from quote.)

A little later, some tofu got added. Some people, and I'm not singling out Fuzzy here, think that tofu isn't very 'manly'. But when cut up with an axe, I think it has a certain machismo.

Very nice

Day 5. -David and Nix- Those are some good looking axes! Here's some Fiskars X7 food prep. Cutting peppers to shrink wrap and freeze for stews this winter.
Nice usage

It's an elk antler. I bought at the rendezvous yesterday. The rendezvous is held at the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge. Every year on Saturday they auction off the elk antler sheds. I finally won this one. It goes to help keep the Refuge up and going.
What? Enablers! Are you serrrrious? Where? I dont see any.

Looks like a good time!  The axe looks sharp!  Is it visibly easy to tell which side of the axe is 25 vs 32 deg?

Men are allowed to have boobs too.

I have tofu in stir-fries, adding soy sauce to it is mandatory for me. (And sometimes a little ginger)

Day 7

Used Chip Chop No1 to chop open a young coconut, that's gonna be one of the favorite use of mine.  Most folks will drain the juice out, then chop it in half to eat the meat, that's easy; but I love to chop open it to drink and eat at the same time. 8)

A little bucking, then you can see why this wood is hard to split. The bark gives it away but it is twisted grain

Made some progress on the heirloom today :tu:
Cleaned the eye with an scothbrite pad, filed off the damage on the edge and smoothed it out, now it just needs a handle and sharpening and it's good to go
