Got the gray frame today.  Honestly, it's not bad!  It's the original solid red scales, and really only needs a new scissors spring.  I think I'm going to clean it up and get a spring for it.  I love the feel of the original, old scales!
We decided to celebrate with a cup of Dark roast at Starbucks 😁

That sounds like a good set of decisions all round Barry. Get that new spring ordered !

It's nearly annoying wasp time round here so I'm making wasp traps again  >:D

Day 6

Mail again and an unfortunate "accident" with the Explorer: I usually carry my SAK in my front right pocket in a home made elastic caddy, but today I dropped it in my cargo shorts' side pocket - it was a mistake. I only stepped out for 10 minutes, but something in the pocket scratched the front scale pretty well. Annoying, as this was a brand new set of scales a couple months ago, and they looked really good until now.  >:(

Day 6

Used the Explorer to open a box that came in the mail, then didn’t waste any time opening the coffee to have some.

I've got one thing to say to you Nix. Probably but do remember to dodge wasps and hornets with the rest of your body. If you want a wasp trap I'll mail you

I once got hit in the neck by a wasp or bee. The critter did not find the encounter amusing and let me know. I, in turn, then found the meeting less than satisfactory.  :(

Day 6:

Various uses of my Explorer thru the day. Cutting open a bag of Oreo DoubleStuff Golden cookies was the highlight. Haha

Now, tonight, just using it to cut open parts packages...

Day 6. First thing I will do tomorrow is touch up both blades. Never realized how dull the things were; I guess because before this challenge, I only carried the Explorer maybe 10 times in the 3 years I had it; and besides, it was purchased secondhand to start with. Ended up using my Lambsfoot for the cutting job.
