And with a knife the size of the Explorer, it actually fits in tight spaces, some larger models, even with the inline Phillips don't fit too well.

Day 7; opened my nighttime snack. Touched the blades up on my 1200 grit DMT stone I most often use for touch ups. Vic steel might be a bit soft, but sharpens without a problem.

Day7

Great uses everyone! Sos24 sweet scales I have been looking at those Navy camo scales hard. I love getting new scales it’s kinda of like getting new shoes.

Today I was messing around in the kitchen. I roasted a jalapeño and cut some onion to make some chili. Also sliced up some smoked  Tri-tip and cut up some potatoes for Portuguese hash for dinner.

Replaced the swivel plate on my Wife's stool.   Now she can keep a better eye on all those 6th graders she will be teaching.  Love the in line Phillip's driver.  Never really cared for the back side driver much.  In the confined space of the jobs I need a Phillips for the t-handle is often as bad as no driver at all.
:iagree: inline is better!  :tu:

Day 8

Been a pretty long day at office and went to modding knife straight after, finally got a little time at night to catch up on Japanese culture and swordsmanship.  No real action today for the Explorer, all is in my head... :)

Maybe it is biased opinion, I didn't actually quite mind the steel Vic uses.  At least it is rather "stainless", handles most paper/box cutting job quite well, and so very easy to make it shaving sharp.

Quite like the clip you got for the Explorer, does it glow in the dark?

Day 07

Explorer got used to open a package of almonds.

It was a hot day out on the motorcycle. Really it was the salt I craved, more than the nuts.

Looks like a fun trip!

Yes it does. I have that size, also some bigger ones. 3D printed from a guy in Germany, I think.

Nice shot! The book on swordsmanship sounds interesting.

:iagree:

As a MA student, I have always been fascinated by Japanese swordsmanship, their view of life and Zen Buddhism.  Though I have not formally learnt any swordsmanship, I did learn some bits and pieces over the years, and still find The Way of sword intriguing.  These few books are more for entertainment rather than real doctrines, but they are good reads for sure.   I particularly recommend "Autumn Lightning", it is basically real life story about Karate Kid with a sword(Hope the Author never read this, I have no doubt he would blow me into pieces with this wooden sword)

Btw, a very interesting piece written by the Author himself, read on and one may start to understand how deep it runs.

I've been off the grid for the last couple of week camping in Alaska. My explorer worked hard the in the great outdoors. Picture of it with the package I sent back from Alaska containing a few custom knives and a pocket pal that I rescued from it's lonely residence in an outdoor store display case in Homer, AK. More on the pocket pal later.
Cheers!
