Day 17. This was the '74-80 that was unusable for the challenge. The blade has heavy sharpening wear, to the point the edge barely goes into the handle. There is a huge ding towards the tip, meaning that if I were to sharpen it out, the blade would be proud of the handle. Thus, it's gonna have to go to Buck soon.

Oh boy, so a new blade then. Wonder what the cost would be?

Day 18

Use the new Slim 112 to cut open a pack of Eneloop, I am a big fan of this rechargeable, really high quality and best of all, can keep the charge for longer time.

Good luck with that, I am sure this knife is probably filled with good memories, and let's hope the cost is not too high and you get to keep the handle.  :tu:

Some nice pics.

Borg - I haven’t seen a serrated 112, but that would be cool.

Day 17

I couldn’t stop coughing for some reason earlier so I thought I would do some tea with honey.  The plastic wrap did not want to come open so the Ranger took care of it.

Hopefully you're not getting sick Sherry   :tu:

A little bonus...leftovers from yesterday’s nights ribs
The apple was something picked up at Trader Joe’s - called Sweetango Apples.

Looks like good eating!  Why must every challenge thread makes me hungry?

Thanks for the concern, but I’m good.  It is just my sinuses messing with me.

Nice I like it

I prefer a good hot toddy, but that wouldn’t be good when I have things to do.

  Never had Pho, but that looks good.

Better than chicken soup when you have a cold!   :tu:

You guys probably have some good Pho shops near you.  We had one place, but the Pho was pretty lousy. And then it closed. So I learned to make my own.

Day 18

Clearing snow off of my deck which is over my garage so I have to keep the weight from getting too much. I did this by hand for many years but it got too much for my bad shoulder . I had to throw it over the railing which is sided to match the Townhouse so you can't just shovel it through, it has to go over.
Last year I got an electric snowblower and wish I had done that years ago. It's a pretty big deck 30 x 25 feet and it used to take me an hour or more depending on how much snow. I can do it now in about 15 -20 minutes.

Used te 112 to clear some ice that was preventing the chute from turning

:tu:  it sure would, i would like a fully serrated lightweight as a second blade and that would have been perfect
