For those that don't know, my good buddy Abe Elias runs Diving Sparrow Knifeworks, and is an accomplished writer, having been published in many knife and gun magazines over the years.  When he heard it was our anniversary he sent me this message to share with you all:

Abe is a great guy- in fact, I got a call from another good friend of mine many years ago saying that he had just bumped into Abe, as they live fairly close to each other.  He had no idea who Abe was, but in the conversation they had, Abe mentioned that he was a knife guy.  My friend, Trevor, then said "Oh yeah?  I have a friend who is a knife guy.  His name is Grant and he lives in Halifax!"  Abe then responded "I know Grant too!"

What can I say, I get around!  :D

I had been reading Abe's work in Knives Illustrated for a while and really looked forward to his articles, then we both happened to be at the CRKT booth at the same time at SHOT one year and I was really pleased to see that he was as cool in person as he seemed in his articles.

Trevor used to work for me years ago when I worked in Communications for what was, at the time, the world's largest security company.  He then followed me around to a few other companies after that because in those days I marketed myself as the head of a team of security speSmurfpillsts, not just me.

Not the exciting or sordid stories you were hoping for, huh?  :P
