Is this store a Master dealer?

The one I was at was a Platinum and had a nice selection in the display cases.  Can only IMAGINE what a Master dealer would have in inventory.

For those of you who might be intersted in early Case knives and history. Here's a good book on the subject.

I was at a small town south of me and stopped at its hardware store.  Walked into a Case Event.  Factory reps offering sharpening services, discontinued models stacked on tables, special give aways and dealer special addition knives.  And loads of people! AND FOOD and DRINK.

Along with sale items was this display case(Image removed from quote.)

I did pick up a 2019 Catalog and red Case towel.  (Image removed from quote.)
On the discontinued table there were lots of knives, a Grey Moose, Black/Purple Sod Buster Jr and others I would have wanted.

But, I did pick two and had the funds to acquire.
A Crimson Trapper(Image removed from quote.)
And, a bucket list style, a Muskrat pattern with blue scales. (Image removed from quote.)
Met several nice collectors hovering over the discontinued table, all veterans, Korean or Vietnam era.  Each very knowledgeable of Case knives.

A good Saturday morning to say so myself.

Yes, a very enjoyable morning.

Then my wife came home from work, asked, “What did you find?”

I show her and then told her about the ones a left behind. Her reply, “Didn’t you have the credit card?”

Go figure???

I found a seller who had this Case Trapper for sale.He also had a flyer from Ford Hardware Store  to promote a sweepstakes for an OCC custom chopper. They had Case make and engrave many different knives for this sweepstakes.

This is 1 of only 25 in this configuration, 6254 Trapper, made for this special promotion.

The factory made a special effort for this production as illustrated by the finish of the back springs.I didn't have to remove and residual machine marks,as I do with most of the Case knives.I did remove some minor handling marks from this 14 year old knife.

On the front scale is a chopper done on natural bone, while the back scale is left plain.

Wow! Must've been a lot of money riding on that. To get 25 limited run Case knives couldn't have been under $100 a piece. I'd imagine more than that.

I'm not really sure of dealers cost.

The flyer, the owner sent along with this Trapper, indicated the Case knives had prices between $70.00 and $75.00.Remember though this was 14 years ago.

I don't mind telling our members what I paid for this particular knife. This is not to boast about the deal but to inform.I can never understand,on other sites, where the sellers remove the sale price after the knife is sold.In my mind, this practice doesn't allow other members to understand the value of specific knives.

The seller wanted $50.00 so I offered a reasonable $40.00 to which the seller agreed.

Very nice! Too pretty for me to use, so I probably wouldn't have purchased it. But that's cheaper than a new trapper many places today!
I don't recall how the US dollar was valued at that time (was too young to care about money, unless it was for a candy machine).

Trappers fit my hand so we'll!
I'm really eager to pick up a jack or Barlow. I like the two blade configuration, and want something slightly smaller. A peanut is a bit too small.
