After seeing that I am now rather over awed and would be slightly apprehensive about the massive task ahead if I was you.    ;)

I suffer at times with analysis peralysis so I could see me very much over think how best to display and organize this wonderful collection.  I am sure you will come up with something wonderful that will suit you.

May I suggest nice big tool cabinets and chests with plenty of shallow drawers for display purposes. There are also a few deeper drawers to store the boxed knives as well.



I have found that is a real quick way to peruse the collection, keeps everything nice and safe...can be locked up for protection from petty thieves and nosy family,  :D

It awlso helps to have a list of the contents on top/side of the cabinets or getting a logbook to know where everything is.

Thank you, I appreciate the ideas.  But for now I'm going to keep the collection as ColoSwiss did, in containers that are marked on the side, then inside there is a paper that tells what each one is.  I wonder if this makes me CaliSwiss?  :dunno:

Thank you, I appreciate the ideas.  But for now I'm going to keep the collection as ColoSwiss did, in containers that are marked on the side, then inside there is a paper that tells what each one is.

It's just heartwarming knowing how much he loved his collection and took care of each item. 
Even the trays are lined with a soft, custom cut felt to protect the knife from scratches.

I've seen it written here many times that ColoSwiss may have had the most expansive collection in North America. If that's true, that was also one of the biggest, if not the biggest market for this stuff. You might have a bigger collection now than anyone. You are no longer a collector, ma'am. You are now a curator.

Yes. Lots of private collectors out there. I always thought Coloswiss's collection is larger than mine.  :tu:

Mind you...I am a bit of a rarety as far as collectors go...having posted so many photos in here of my collection.

I am quite happy to see his collection go to a fellow member.  :hatsoff:
