My EDC belt bag
on: October 30, 2019, 07:02:30 PM
In another thread, I recently asked about EDC items that others were in the habit of carrying. Gaining some ideas from those posts, I thought maybe it would be handy to throw together a pre-made EDC bag with some day to day essential or nice to have items. This would be something I could throw on my belt if need be, or just keep in the car or motorcycle as the need arises.

With that in mind, I went to ebay and ordered a couple of molle pocketed small organizer bags with which to start putting my EDC bag together. I was amazed when I found a couple of nice organizers for VERY cheap. I bought them both for under $14. The idea for this first one was not to put together a survival kit, but to create and day to day bag with items that might be needed in various situations. Two things I absolutely feel I need to have in any kit is a SAK or Multitool and a good flashlight.

Within my kit I have (so far):
Swisstool
Victorninox Executive
Nitecore TUP
Olight I3T
2 small notebooks
Pen
First aid kit in a small zip loc bag
Med tube with 4 Tylenol and 4 Excedrine
Tube with spare aaa battery
Butane pocket torch
Blaze orange bandanna

I also want to add a small sewing kit and a small power bank. I will add or adjust items as time goes on. I figure this is a decent start and I can see what kind of items would be advantageous to add as the need arises.

Nice pouch and kit!
I you need some suggestions on what to add, here are some items that have negligible weight and bulk, but are very useful.
Shopping bags
Zipties
Cord
Small prybar
Mini sharpie
Mini Bic lighter
usb drive
Duct tape

This is where those join now credit cards you get in the mail come in handy,
Perfect size for duct tape, just wrap a few times, nice and slim and you got a few feet..

 :iagree:

I have this pouch in black, fitted to the left front strap of my backpack to carry pens, wallet, passport, boarding cards etc when travelling by air. Pretty good quality.
Cheers!

If you have a USB drive in there, you might as well use it. I carry a very small flash drive with copies of important documents. Drivers License, Passport, Insurances and that kind of stuff. Should something ever happen to the hardcopies in my documents while i am not at home, I can at least proof that i have insurance, own the house, ... you get the point.

The flash drive is encrypted, so should I ever loose it and someone find it, they won‘t be able to read it.
Just an idea

I agree with most of your recommendations.  Here's where I don't: If you have a pouch of that size don't skimp on mini's.  Carry a size lighter, Like wise a full size, if not over size, Sharpie.  I wouldn't waste time on  small prybar, unless you are looking to break and enter a doll house.

If you don't use the flashlight regularly, consider replacing it with a power bank and USB gooseneck LED lamp.  It can serve as a flashlight, small lamp and even a hands free light.
