Used my SwissTool's awl and Phillips to help remove my Air-Wave Radio Dock and place it on my new Tac-Vest.

I made a concious decision not to use my Surge (which remained in it's pouch and wasn't happy about it  :twak:) because I never use my SwissTool for work as I really need OHO & O/S tools (blades) for the day job.

March 27:

This really has nothing to do with the Swisstool1. I just wanted to show off my pack-basket:

I walked downtown today--the streets were very quiet--to buy some birdseed and a baguette. #preppersrule!

I really love using the pack basket for these kinds of errands. To start with, the basket protects and organizes bulky and awkwardly shaped objects...that might otherwise poke you in the back. It also distributes and uneven load very nicely. I sort of think of it as an external frame pack on steroids. Lastly, it can be stuffed with more rice and toilet roll than a prepper can use in a year's time2. Have to be careful about that, the load rests on the shoulders. I thought I had a tump line for this at one point, but don't know where it has gone.

Anyway, I highly recommend taking a look at the venerable pack-basket.

1. Swisstool came along for the ride. No uses.
2. Assuming you can find rice and loo paper. Which you can't. #hoarderssuck

No loo paper here either. However, rice can be found (except micro pouches) as the f**kwits here can't even cook rice unless it's done in a microwave

Day 26
Just used the scissors to cut some twine for a piece of stag horn fern.  Tied the piece I'm propagating to some coconut fiber and will give it a few months to establish itself before moving it to its permanent location.

Awl in awl, I like it very much. There is part of me that would rather be carrying a Huntsman or Climber--SAKs that get me through most any day--but I do like having this mini-tool chest in my pocket. P

This sums up pretty much how I feel about the Spirit.  I love the toolset and do not notice it in my pocket organizer anymore than I would one of my favorite SAKs.  The only thing I do miss is having my magnifying glass.  But that being said, there is still a part of me that would just prefer my Yeoman (or one of its modded variants).

Just now found a branch of my lovely Chorisia speciosa. I don’t yet know what I can use it for but took a piece

Swiss Fuzz Day 26

Had to cut the remnants of a laurel to its base to accommodate a rather lovely rambling rose I was about to plant. The Swisstool did an alright job too.  :tu: The rose is called Phyllis Bide if anyone's interested...

I'm trying to convince Mrs Nix to let me plant a rose. Or two.

She's feeling a bit skint at the moment and we do have some other more pressing projects, but roses are lovely.  :tu:

Aye, rambling roses are particularly lovely and if you get a good one and give them enough space you can just leave them to do their own thing.  :tu:

 :hatsoff:  Day 26 -
Still sheltering in place, move a Teddy Bear to front bay window as read about a universal scavenger hunt searching for bears. A bonus, added a tiny bear to upstairs window and my travel frog to opposite pane.

Spirit rested in sheath at the ready. At dinner with pizza a pulled a bottle of red wine, the Butterblade sliced foil TG o access the cork.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Used the package opener to open up some paracord for the next project.  The bottle opener opened up a beer.

Day 26 has been another busy day in the challenge.
Spent my day using my First ever Spirit.  It took some damage during the year I carried it as my EDC.  If you look closely you might be able to see some of that damage.  Tommorw I'll show all the damage.
Despite the damage it served me well triming back some mesquite and restringing the string trimmer.
So now...

Day 27

Didn't know what I do last time, but the magnetic end cap of this lamp was totally stuck at closed position.  Out come the pliers to rescue.

Day 27: It's raining here, so I won't be using the saw before I head into work like I planned.  Fixed a cuppa with the dogs while my family is sleeping.
