In the hand it feels about the same, in the pocket it disappears.

Cool! I can't wait to carry a Freestyle and a Champion! I think that will be an excellent EDC combo!

Umm its kinda the same as the skeletool only no driver or clip. But I still want a skeletool.

For folks who don't want the extra size/weight of the Skeletool...

You are kinda getting me to soften up a bit on it. But I really would miss the tools. The key to the skeletool is you dont Need to carry something with it to be minimal. but the freestyle... Well everyone is sugg other thingsto carry, and that is not what I would like. but YMMV

After thinking it over and looking at the pics more,I've got to agree with you.The Freestyle is a bit too minimal for my tastes, and needs.

I figures that Leatherman would be hard pressed to get more minimal than the Skeletool, and I was right.  Still, they managed to do it, and while I'd still like to see some screwdrivers on it, the Freestyle isn't really all that bad a tool.  At the very least, the build quality is Leatherman's usual high quality standards.

I have no doubt the Freestyle is going to be a big hit for gift buyers, and especially among people that already have and use something like really precision made hollow ground screwdrivers, and just want/need  some light to medium duty pliers around.

I could see myself carrying on while fishing! IMO, it would be ideal for that!

Nooo!  Don't take it fishing unless you tie to to yourself!  We all know what happens to stuff that goes fishing with you... :D

Even the Mafia doesn't dump as much stuff over the side as you do!

There's this great bit of structure just off the Massachusettes coast. It's made up entirely of digital cameras, and known to the locals as Nikkos Reef. :)

It looks in the pictures like they still could have had a way to hold a bit in the curved end.  Maybe it could be a mod.  Maybe the Universal Tool Adpater could be made to work.

I modified my Skeletool a couple of weeks ago.  I took off the carabiner, I never used it or the bottle opener.  It looks a lot like the Freestyle pictures but I still have the bit driver.  I carry a bit from a extra Wave that I have that has a phillips head on one end and a standard head on the other.  I have a LM bit kit in my truck if I need other bits.  To me it is more comforable to carry without the clip.  See what you think.

I caught a nice 5mp Canon off the south side of that reef...

Great job, and welcome to the forum! I personally would take the protruding bit out and buy a philips/3-16 flathead bit and store it in the handle! I really like the mod!

Nice pics. It does look exactly like the Freestyle doesn't it (obviously with a bonus driver).

I do carry the bit in the holder not the driver, I just slide out the bit, insert it into the driver. I can use the screwdriver without opening the handles too!
