Day 27
Crystal hunting on the mountain today.  :tu:

Now that's something I've never done,,, tell me a little about it.

DAY 27  I've got a General license, but I'm not very active.  The local club is really old guys who like to complain about club dues more than meet new guys..  But your pic inspired me to turn on the handheld and I heard some repeater traffic,

(Image removed from quote.)

That's cool. I don't turn mine on near enough. I am only a Technician, but I do pretty good on 10 meters. I have broken the 5000 mile marker with 25 watts on 10m. I see you dialed in the 70cm band,, wish we had more action on that here.

Nice radio, GA!   :like:

Technically, 'herbal teas' are "Tisanes", not teas.  To be a 'tea', the stuff that gets a hot water bath needs to be from the Camellia sinensis bush.

I know some more useless stuff, too.  :D
:iagree:

I hate that some places have stuff on the menu that is no way tea, but is billed as such. To me they are all some kind of weird infusion, but NOT tea.

As I type this, I am enjoying a cup of Tetley British blend. Black, with just about a 1/4 teaspoon of sugar.

Thank you both. As a follow up, I did have a cup of Twinings English Breakfast with a dash of milk and 1/4 tsp of sugar and it was pretty good. It did have the strong tea flavor that I prefer in iced tea. I think I will enjoy it.

Day 27.

Cutting some bacon with the Rambler.
My son is a big fan of bacon. And the bacon must be at the little boy standards.

The Rambler did the job. Not like my Vic's kitchen knives, but made it.

We're from the same hometown. My family and I just made our first visit to the museum dedicated to him Indiana, Pennsylvania.  Recently, I've read a couple of books on his wartime service and you're right, Carl.  He never talked about it to anyone.
One of my all time favorite actors! Such a nice guy and very modest man. He'd never talk about the war or capitalize on his wartime service. He seemed to be a true gentleman.

Thanks cbl. Sounds like another book for me to look out for….
:iagree:  What makes a challenge interesting is how often I learn something from all you folks, and constantly expanding my horizon.

More bill opening for the main blade on the Ambassador - these 74s are much better than I expected coming from 91/93 user experience!

Vic now makes a Delemont version: Executive 81. Pretty close to the Esquire, including the Wenger scissors, but with Vic T&T. I picked one up and really like it. I'm glad to see Vic continuing the 65mm line.

I really like it, but Victorinox ruined it by changing the keyring position.

:iagree:  The 74's are overlooked in my opinion. Over shadowed by the big 91's and the petite 58's.

I hear ya. I don't really mind where the keyring is since I don't carry a Vic on an actual keyring. And perhaps because I often file the key ring off my SAKs....

Day 28

The Midnite Debt  Collector is totting up the money my colleagues owe me for a mate’s retirement gift. I really should’ve done it by PayPal given that it’s nigh on impossible to get everyone together with all this remote working. Just hope I don’t have to bring in the pair of big lads I have on hand for the slow payers…

MiniChamp Monday.
Opened a parcel containing a new cycling helmet I'd ordered. It's predecessor had a little plastic wheel for tightening which, in the way of little plastic things, broke last week.

Day 28:

More work tying up pea plants, tomatoes, and some surprisingly unruly strawberries. I'll be better prepared next Spring.

Used a different string.....just to keep it entertaining. And I prefer the natural brown color to the shocking bleached white color of the cotton stuff.  Lesson learned there, too.   :tu:
