Congratulations on the anniversary, Aloha! I do not have an Explorer as I pretty much limit my purchases to SWAKs I run across at estate sales and garage sales with bargain basement prices and I've never run into one. I'm definitely in.

The Explorer is one of the great SAKs, and especially great is the one on offer with the grey mag and old style tang blade. What a beaut!

Over the years its been a go to.  I've gone to the 84mm which is a great SAK but I come back to the Explorer.  I've had one since 2013 when I first began to get into SAKs and started with MTO.  I've had several over the years and gifted them away trying to spread the SAK love and in particular Explore love.  I now have 2 excluding the one up for GAW.  One is a real beater with grey mag glass and one is the newer one with translucent scales.  I do prefer the older mag glass and I hope whomever gets this will love the Explorer as much as we all do.

Im waiting to pick up an Explorer, likely this Summer.  Ive always wondered between an older or newer model (grey vs clear magnifying lens).  Is the older grey lens a higher magnification rating?

Ive the clear lens on my Swiss Champ so its ok...but curious about the older grey lens.

I had an Explorer but lost it two weeks ago. Since I didn't recover it I'm planning on buying a new one...
