What is in this drawer?
on: April 27, 2021, 01:54:04 AM
I tend to focus on multi-tools of all forms, and as such I do not really consider myself a knife collector. I know that I am self delusional on this aspect because what knives I do have stored in this single drawer, is but a small part of the stuff I have that can be considered knives...and I am not even factoring the swiss army knives of my collection. I guess what I am saying is that I never actively buy knives...they just seem to accumulate somehow. Irrespective of my self imposed delusions, I present to you another "What lurks in yonder storage drawer".

The storage drawer in question...

Supposed to be a reproduction of a German Paratrooper Knife of WW 2, but was never used as such. I bought it because when I saw it in the Pawn Shop, I was curious and intrigued by its deployment mechanism. It is a pantographic knife, which makes it rather interesting to me. I can definitely do without all the Nazi scribbling and insignias that cover every square inch of it. If nothing else, it is a conversation piece.

I'm not sure if this was just showing neat stuff or if you were asking for identification

For what it's worth the Spyderco looks like a Man or Ladybug  :dunno:

No. 41 is definitely Soviet, most probably 1970s-1980s. Looks like the tools have some nickel (or chromium?) plating, which is partially dislocated at some places. If so, this is another indication of its nationality: I've never seen such blades made outside the USSR:)
