Very nice, Chako! Is that one of those "Donk!" brand clips? I saw those on Amazon, but was concerned by reviews stating that the screws stripped or broke. Did you have any problems like that?

I'm still waiting on the Rebar saw blade and a Leatherman PST Heritage sheath before I start carrying mine, but I'm already working the pliers to get them loosened up.

The same. I did not have any issues with the screws...just take it easy as starting it was a little finicky.

I swapped the file for a Rebar saw.

I tell you what, those anti-tampering screws were difficult to remove, even with the special wrenches from loki. Not only were they super tight, but the partially raised handle surrounding half of each screw basically acts like ramp to lift the wrench off of the screw head. A socketed version of the wrench would have been ideal for this particular tool.

Great mod, hsherz :like:

The Rebar fasteners are similar and are a bit difficult sometimes as well :salute:

Thank you! I suspected as much regarding the Rebar, since the handle geometry appears so similar. But since the Bond and Rebar are so similar, the saw fits like the proverbial glove. The only modification that I made was to glue a sliver of plastic inside the handle to prevent the teeth at the tip of the saw blade from dulling themselves on the metal. It also made the saw blade easier to open.

Did you heat the pivots first?

To free the screws from the loctite, you mean? No, that never occurred to me.  I don't have an easy way to do that, anyway.

Yes. I think most folks use a lighter.
Most of us use a lesser strength of Loctite than Leatherman does when reassembling.

I use a candle, holding the tool about an inch above the top of the visible flame, and heat each side of the pivot about 10-20 seconds at a time. Really stuck pivots can take a minute or more of heating to loosen. Even once you've broken the epoxy, it'll still partially stiffen when it cools, so unfortunately it's easiest to work with while uncomfortably hot. Try not to burn yourself too much.

I’ve yet to carry and use my Bond for more than one day.  I keep going back to the Wave.    I did add a pocket clip and will try to give it a go foe this week.

Did the rebar pliers fit in the bond without any modifications? They fit properly so that the bond closes all of the way?

Comparing my Bond to my Wave+, the pliers appear to have the exact same external dimensions. And I know from experience the Wave and Rebar have identical pliers.
