Used the Bond to "help" assemble some recent purchases by the "Dept. of Good Ideas" (D.o.G.I)
As is so often the case, the "D.o.G.I" failed to consult with the "Dept. of Works" (D.o.W)  :twak:

This led to much wailing  :poh: (colourful expletives) and gnashing of teeth

Surge, my friend, this is a consistent complaint that the D.o.W.'s from all around the world express about our overlords, the D.o.G.I.

Quote
Awl has "mostly" been resolved and, as an upside, the Bond has a brand new Pocket Clip  :tu:

I am still waiting for the D.o.G.I. to release the funds for purchasing a Bond. Hopefully this will occur before it is discontinued    :bnghd:

I can't use a credit card at the moment to pay for a $50 Bond online at the moment, so in protest I went to Costco and used my lunch money to buy a $40 Bolster

Wait a minute.

That doesn't make nearly as much sense now as it did when I saw the Bolster in Costco

Funny how thing seem fine in your head but as soon as you put pen to paper or (Fingers to keyboard) they don't make as much sense

  :D

I really do want a Bond, and I could get one if I pushed a little bit. Or if I bought a Visa gift card  (  Didn't think of that before now). But I happened to be in Costco to buy some light bulbs and I happened to walk by the Bolster display and I happened to have some cash in my wallet...

I am the proverbial fool who has now parted ways with his money.

No close Costcos to home, so I am not a member  :D

After looking at both the Bond and Rebar for the past few weeks I finally placed an order for the Bond  :drink:

I couldn’t help myself, the Bond is such a good looking tool. The svelte profile won me over, despite the lack of saw. I too often choose aesthetics over function

The saw is the only thing I’m missing on the Bond.
I had some mods planned before I got mine but realized I was about to invent the Rebar

Guys, how much thicker is the Bond compared to the PST ?

BTW, the PST2, I was thrilled to discover, is exactly 1 inch thick and 1 cm high. I find that useful/cool, not to mention there's an LM engineer somewhere in the world who got a warm feeling in his guts when I took my ruler out to check.

That engineer was probably Tim Leatherman that got that warm fuzzy feeling :D

The is a bit thicker than the PST type tools

I will have to check later :salute: if I remember  :D

I am in, too...

Just need a Kick, a SideClip, and a Flair to complete the PST branch of the Leatherman family. Don't know if I can pull the trigger on buying a Heritage PST
