While we are at it, we might as well get the datecodes of these as people get them :cheers:

Mine is 1020 and 0121 :woohoo:
I got one that missed a digit, makes it a little special :tu:

Well thanks to Poncho and Powernoodle (Multitool Enablers) pictures I think I am going to buy the Bond.  I had been debating the Rebar for a while now but the Bond seems more my speed.  I don't care for replaceable wire cutters because I feel they eat into the plier portion too much.  Just call me Bond, Leatherman Bond.   :multi:

 :iagree: Mine should be here Tuesday  :gimme:

You guys are a bunch of enablers and I can't thank you enough for that  :salute:

To be fair, we have waited for almost two decades for LM to update the PST, so a couple more days don’t matter at all.  :)

Quick question on the Bond please?

Is the plier head the same width as the Rebar one?

Cheers, Pete

Someone on the LM subreddit swapped the Bond pliers out for those in the Rebar, and they said it worked fine. So the dimensions are tool-compatible. I don't know if that answers your question or not.

Looks to be the exact same plier head used on the second generation Wave, Charge,  Blast, Fuse and Kick respectively  :cheers: So should definitely swap out with the Rebar plier head :salute:

Thanks Gents

Not wanting to swap them, I don't have a Rebar. Tried it once, but gave it away. The Bond on the other hand, I do want

I think Maxlvledc weighed them but I don't have anything to weigh the difference  :think: I think the Bond is around 6oz maybe a little under and the Rebar is about 6.7oz.

I just weighed them.

PST = 5.2oz
Rebar = 6.7oz

If the Bond is 6.0, then it's right in-between.

FWIW, the knifeless Rebar = 6.3oz

Well, guess what came in a day early?  :multi:

My first impressions are good. It's a bit tight but that's easily solved with a bit of lubrication and some usage. The build quality appears to be really good, they even put brass washers on the plier side. The Bond really does feel like an updated PST, I'm sure it wil prove itself to be very useful.

Now I read some speculation about the old PST sheaths and the Bond. I have a few over here, ranging from brand new to very old. In my old, well used, leather sheath it slides right in and out without a problem. When I try a brand new one it can be forced in but it is tight, I bet it could be stretched to fit with some water though.

The Bond does fit very well in the nylon PST sheath, so there's always that option. I have attached some images, the snap on the nylon was added by me to replace the velcro.

Glad it made it there early :woohoo:

I tried a PST sheath and it was to tight for the Bond but as you said, I am sure it could be stretched to fit :salute:

Thank you.  :)

This particular leather sheath that fits really wel has been used a whole lot, it’s probably stretched quite a bit over the years.

I’ve been playing around with it a bit and the tightness is completely gone. Tried a few screws and used the pliers and it feels nice in hand. A worthy successor to the PST imho.

Dates are 0121 and 0221 btw.

What would you be giving up :think:

Except for just a tiny bit of grinding on the locking notch, it is a drop in mod :salute:

Got mine Saturday, great tool set,I have a minor quibble with the edge of the file sticking up a millimeter when using the pliers,same as on the rebar. Sheath is ok, it should fit in the older pulse and original wave sheaths just fine. Minor bummer no scissors but that's what the micra is for. Good tool, far better than the rev.
