Ti Dangler: Cool little gadget!!!!
on: January 21, 2009, 05:51:39 AM
My last post was a little harsh, so let's see if we can get back on track.  :tu:  Here is a cool little gadget that is being made. As soon as I have the purchase info I'll post it here. I'll let the pictures do the talking.:

What do you guys think?  I've been told the price will be about $20.

I like it. Keeps from having to dig in the bottom of your pockets to look for stuff.

I was thinking the same thing. I think it would also be cool for flashlights and other edc gear.  :tu:

Awesome idea though, I think this would solve some of my Buck X-Tract problems  :D

Victorinox has a larger version of that, made from stainless and is supposed to hang on your belt.  Either way, this one is cool!

I've tried the metal Vic. one and didn't really like it.  It was noisy and certainly wasn't discrete.  They also do a black leather belt hanger that's much better (IMO).  Still my favourite is the one Ryan made me from paracord.

What I like about it is this:

It is easy to separate from the mulittool.  I removed the side clip from my Skeletool after the second time it gouged my hand while using the pliers.

I hope the clip is pretty tight.

I made one of those out of a spoon some time ago.  Cut off the spoon part and the lower part of the handle, fold it over leaving the back side longer and then drill a hole in it for the keyring and viola there you go.

FWIW you can also use a small S-hook along with a split-ring. Just squeeze one part of the S so that it becomes more of a "6" and pass the split ring through there. You can then use the split ring to attach this thing to your lanyard ring/hole and use the other part of the hook to hook it on the top of your pocket. Voila... :) I was using this with my X-tract to avoid digging in my pockets for it. Arguably, it won't hold the tool in place if you sit upside down, but that's something most of us wouldn't do anyway... (I'm not sure if it would work in Oz though... :P)

Ya know guys I thought about this thread all day. i would like to just put my 2 cents in.

If you can make something I am from the school of go ahead and do it. However in this I really got to argue. This is a really cool slick little unit that the guy who designed it is actually a terrific guy. I would love to give his name here or his site, but A year ago I stated I would only show makers names here that sponser, or are going to sponser, or I review.(and trust me I will be reviewing some stuff from him)  I welcome anyone whom knows this items maker to post it, however! and I got to say there is something else about this that he or someone else can spill if they want to. BUT lets just say that you wont have to get just Ti. There will be other materials. But go for the Ti!! It is more expensive But way worth it!

Now my reason for busting in on this is simple. I am torn over it because the gentleman that makes the Dangler is really Cool. It took over 8 emails to get him to see something I want made. it was not because of him, it was because of me. Though I can tear apart anyhting mechanical I will have a hard time explaining it in post. he walked me through it and really was patient, and courtious. He is truely someone that does what he loves and loves what he does. By the way I actually had to make a little prototype in cardboard and email it!

I just hope someone here spills the beans, because He is the man to do buissness with!!

I know this came off as kinda preachy and long winded, but i really have to go to bat for the guy. I just hope people understand why I wont use his companys name.

But John Can!!!
