???   Wait a minute   :ahhh  is day 0 a thing?

I carried my mini today just to start getting the feel for it again, but I didn't bother taking any pictures.

Do I need to take a picture for day 0?

Hello Awl.
I was not sure about joining the challenge but here we go.
I have 2 Minis, one silver and one BO. Both are close to mint so are both shelf queens. In amongst the LMs in the cabinet are a few other characters so shall bring those out to show as well.
This is a non working tool month for me.

Loking forward to the other pics.

Day 1

Used the Mini Tool blade to open part of my breakfast:

I discovered that I need to make an adjustment to the MT. The blade does not open smoothly, and is a bit dangerous to close. I will need to unbend the handle a tiny bit or round off the tang of the blade a smidgen:

If not, I may end up something worse than this nick I received this morning:

Day  1

I'll probably be carrying my modified Mini for most of the challenge but I will also carry my BO Mini on some days. I repaced the small blade with a flathead modified into a 2D Phillips like found on the Micra    Phillips Mini Mod

Day 1

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the :ahhh Mini :ahhh .  I love the design, how unique it is, and it's a great addition to my collection, but on a practical level, it is a little awkward to use and the toolset is lacking. Thankfully, this challenge allows me to carry another tool to cover what I can't do with the :ahhh Mini :ahhh .  For me, that will definitely be something with a Philips head screwdriver.  Since the :ahhh Mini :ahhh has my pliers need covered, I am thinking that I'll just pair it with a SAK that has a Philips driver, preferably the smallest SAK possible.

Once I determine what Philips driver solution I'll carry with it, I need to decide how I will carry the :ahhh Mini :ahhh . I have a suspension clip ready to go in case I need it.

Finally, my top concern going in is breaking my :ahhh Mini :ahhh .  It's not that I think it isn't durable - it's just that the replacement cost is fairly steep.

Here is my friend for the month.

As much as I would hate losing the blade on a multitool, that is an awesome mod for the :ahhh Mini  :ahhh !

Came in handy and worked very well to tighten up a loose cabinet hinge.

The blade on my mini is hard to open too but I suspect it is because of the safety feature that prevents it from opening when the handle is fully extended (unfolded).  You definitely have to intend to open it, it's not ever going to get floppy and open by itself.  It also takes some force to close it but that's fine with me.

Used the file/straight driver to tighten set screws for a recessed can fixture:

Thanks for the suggestion! That is a much safer way to open and close the blade.

Great use :like: and Tim Leatherman actually told me  himself :o that he designed the knife blade and handle extension that way for safety :hatsoff:

I have met him twice and had a few things each time with me  ;) :D

Really nice guy and since it was at SMKW both times there wasn't an extremely long line because mainly knife peeps are there and not as many MT peeps :woohoo:

That is absolutely perfect! If ever I get my hands on a stainless Mini and spare parts, I’d like to try this mod!
