Thanks- he's getting old now, which is a terrible shame.  He's almost eleven, and spends most of his time trying to ignore the puppy who doesn't believe anyone should ignore her!

Still he's happy and healthy and that's about all you can ask for with a good dog.

I like snow, except all drivers instantly become idiots when it snows, you'd think this wouldn't happen in a place that gets a couple of meters of snow every winter, but it still does.

I never would have guessed. He looks like he is in terrific shape for 11. There are not many dogs of his size and age that could run like that!

Yeah, he's in great shape for eleven all right!  I take much better care of my dogs than I do myself!  That picture was taken in the summer when it was pretty warm, and he doesn't move so well in the heat- you try running around in a parka in the sun!  Now that it's colder he's much more active.  I have some video footage of him putting the boots to the puppy, who is now significantly bigger and heavier than he is!  It never gets cold enough for huskies.  They run best at -30 to -40 degrees, and will run for 8-10 hours straight in that weather, then curl up in the snow and fall asleep, only to do it all again when they wake up!

We have ankle deep slush everywhere now, and it is a mess.  Wet ice is hardly ideal conditions for anything, although it's normal for here.  The salt in the air usually melts the snow, then the frigid temps move in overnight and freeze it, so we almost always end up with super slippery conditions.  If I can get a spare set of rims somewhere I'm probably going to (eventually) invest in some studded tires.

Thank goodness,reconnected with the world!!!!! Electricity was out for me for a short while,but cable and broadband was out for 3 days. Several thousand people likely won't see power restored for another 5-6 days.That is,if we're not hit by yet another winter storm forecast to hit the Ohio Valley next week.

And I thought the Presidents Day 2003 icestorm was a once in a lifetime thing......
