Day 4: Working overnight, I used the pliers to pull the stem from an apple and the main blade to slice up a snack.

Day 4/31

G'Day,

Today was a rather quiet day for the Spirit. The girl-child and I went up the mountain for a new backpack for her to use at University. On the way back we stopped at a low bridge that was closed with the floods a few weeks ago. The devastation was scary, full trees broken on half or completely uprooted. The power of water is phenomenal, even the Armco at the edge of the road had been damaged, bent and the foundations washed out. I would not want to be anywhere close to the water once it starts raging.

As for the Spirit, a cutting duty and aligning of a small bolt on the Honda. I was going to use the Philips, but it was to small and there are no Allen keys on my Spirit. So out came the full size tools. The Honda now has a new blinker cover and a radiator guard fitted. We could not do the blinker rubber, I could not get to the wiring in the back. That will have to wait for the next service. All in all a good day.

Five implements used to date: blade, scissors, chisel/scraper, pliers and small screwdriver.

Cheers, Pete

More Day 4/31 Action

Leg of Lamb for dinner, slow cooked in a clay pot. Turns out that the Spirit is not a carving knife!!!  :D :D :D

So out came my custom carving knife made by a fellow South African many years ago. Made exactly for my left hand and wrapped in Titanium. Love this knife!!! Posing with the Spirit and my "00" dinner Soldier.

Cheers, Pete

Powernoodle Day 4

Today tree pollen is high, and grass pollen is moderate.  Good times.  Allegra doesn't work for me, but my lad takes it.  I take quercetin, which seems to help a little bit.

It doesn't for me either Powernoodle.  Luckily we've had enough rain to keep the pollen down for the time being.

Pete...I second that knife....nicer than anything I have! The floods look devastating too. Crazy how powerful that can be.

Day 4

Our porch chairs are slowly falling apart. Cutting some loose parts with the scissors. Will see if the chairs survive this next summer.

I am volunteering as treasurer for a non-profit organization and had to do some admin work today. Labels were too wide and had to be trimmed.

Scraper tool got some use opening dog food bag.

DAY 4

Relatives love to gift our kid with toys that are loud and consume good amount of batteries. So much that I made a rule - you buy the kid a battery operated toy - you give me a pack of batteries with it  :D Well - here is one more. Sad thing is that the 3 songs it does are also the 3 out of 4 songs on another toy that the kid enjoys so I'll be hearing a lot more of those   :D

Day 4

Wasn’t able to finish the bathroom light, so I’ll post this for now - tightened a balcony lock using Phillips today.

Also asked around and found that I surely have a defective plier head, so maybe will send it to Victorinox for replacement

Dream. Wish. Leave nothing undone. Repeat.

I wouldn't doubt they'd replace it for you Alexanderre.  I've had great experiences with Vic's customer service.

Day 5/31

G'Day,

Today was an easy day for the Spirit. It started with a decent 3 shots of espresso and then off to the motorcycle lady to collect a jacket that needed some mending. I used the large screwdriver to lift a can pull-tab to spare the nails.

That is it, possibly dinner duties later, but not sure about that yet. I'm back at work tomorrow, lunch duties and possibly a posing pic on the trains.

Cheers, Pete
