It's called Best of the Rest, English Blend.  It's a bulk tobacco at around $16 a bag.  It has the peppery undertones of Latakia and Perique without being too strong for an everyday smoke.  The smell reminds me of the dim hallway of my grandfather's apartment building and the smell of his jacket when I'd sit on his lap 50+ years ago.  :cheers:

Day 7:

Almost forgot to grab a photo before I went to bed. Got my LED Mini Maglite out so I could let the dog out to use the bathroom before I put him to bed.



Blue has basically been the standard for Maglites since my first, an incandescent Solitaire when I was 10. Only two are other colors--Spectrum series Warm White Solitaire (Maglite only makes it in black with a sliver tail cap) and LED Mini Maglite AAA (black also, came in Walmart gift pack with a Gerber US-1 3-4 years ago).

That was my first Mag-Lite as well. 30 years have passed since I got it, and it didn't work last I checked, but hopefully a new bulb will set it right.

Day 8, opened some more stuff.

Safari Ltd. Winner's Circle Audrey on Streaming Light (a Gypsy Vanner). The horse is well done, and the rider is pretty decent for the price.



I've had the Schleich Quarter Horse on the right for at least a decade. The second Audrey was an accident, due to me being clueless with Schleich, Safari, and Papo figurines. I thought she was an older Schleich product, and that's what she was listed as. Despite my low-balling that resulted in me paying $15 as opposed to $30, I learned she was actually a Safari Ltd. product, and that both her and her horse sold for less than I paid for the figure alone (even less once shipping was factored in), and I liked the horse, so I got the set too. Even though thinking back, I probably had the right to cancel the order before the seller had shipped it, as it was misrepresented, I prefer NOT to do that. The seller didn't offer returns either, so I was sort of stuck. She was clearly marked on her left leg (molded-in, not printed)-- "Audrey Safari Ltd. 2010" so it could not have simply been a mistake in my mind.


I'll need to get saddles, but unsure of how they'll fit. Safari horses are just slightly smaller scale (a quarter horse and Gypsy Vanner are about the same size), and the rider fits tightly due to not being designed to use a saddle.



On the bright side, the paint application on the Audrey from the new set has a really poor paint job on the face, while the old one is perfect.

Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a Leatherman Skeletool for thirty (30) consecutive days.
