Not really much of a name for pattern, is it?

Sounds more like a model name. Is there a more suitable pattern name?

Well excuse me Mr farty pants.

From AAPK Case knife patterns:

Pattern # 048
Case Slimline Trapper KnifeThis pattern is a 4 1/8″ serpentine style jack knife that is usually called a bare-head trapper, slim-line trapper, or farmer’s knife. There is a one bladed version, and a two bladed version. The one blade version usually has a long clip blade, and the two blade version normally has a clip master blade and almost always a spey secondary blade. Some were produced with a pen secondary. Neither version usually has a left side bolster. Case has been manufacturing them since sometime prior to 1940.

Highly recommend, the RR versions are very inexpensive but still good quality to use and enjoy  :tu:

Again, some mighty fine trads from everyone!

Day 3

Today I dropped this Schrade 33OT in my pocket. It's such a great size for carry. After it dealt appropriately with an insolent six-pack holder, I took it out and about (had to pick up some pizza).

Day 03:

Made up a "bait bag" to dangle from my belt when doing dog training. The half 'rat was used to clip thread and cut a bit of paracord for a carabiner loop. Actual scissors were used to cut the material (salvaged from an old grill cover).

The slim nature of this knife makes it easier to carry.  Love the blade shape, too.

Great Eastern Cutlery Bull Nose - Red Micarta
Day 3

Today at the market I picked up a whole chicken on sale. While I would have preferred to use some shears, the Bull Nose did a fine job. It just meant I had to give it a deep cleaning and re-oil it when I was finished butchering.

A few hours in a brine, a couple of hours in some cherry smoke and smoked chicken was devoured for dinner tonight!!

Thanks for the welcome folks!  Again this year, some really nice knives!

Same background but the AG Russell Grandad knife (I think that's the name) is stepping up. Feeling my oats today and broke out the harmonica....heck I might get on the drums later. :D

The Case Navy mini trapper seemed fitting for the weekend.  It helped break down a couple boxes and open a popsicle.

Day 04

Super slim pen-knife by Richards.  This is a great example of the typical mid 20th Century pocket knife that would have been available from just about every corner shop and tobacconist etc.  Despite being cheap as chips, I do love the crisp Richards tang stamp.
