Am I the only one thinking it looks like it's lighting up a fart?

Day 8

Since we were talking about Bucks yesterday, I decided to post a pic of my single-blade bucks.  I'll still be carrying my Cadet today.

From left to right: Buck 500 "Duke", Buck 501 "Squire", Buck 503 "Price", Buck 505 "Knight", Buck 055 "The 55", and Buck 110 "Folding Hunter".

The Knight is by far the oldest - I purchased it when I was active duty, and I carried it every day... and much of that time it had a broken tip.  I just recently found it in a box of my old military crap, so I sent it in to Buck to get the blade replaced.  I must have a touch of OCD because it bothers me that the handle is a different color than the 500, 501, and 503.

Nice Buck collection Rich  :like:

How would you compare the 55 vs 503 if I may ask?
Is it just the blade/handle inlay shape? Or is there more to it?

Day 8

Carrying the Lambsfoot again, I'm really liking this knife, after a little work it's now pinchable.

Beautifull knife Steve
Here we have a patern very similar, called "Pica Fumo" or Tobacco Cutter.
I have one that belonged to my paternal grandfather. (Good oportunity to put one in use here)

I would also add 'construction" to the equation.
:iagree: Sometimes I see a trad with Torx screws that looks okay, but they're very much the exception to the rule that a trad should be pinned.

[I purchased it when I was active duty...
What branch? Nice Buck lineup, too! :tu:

Day 8

This one hasn't been seen hereabouts, as best as I can recall. It's a Case 6254 from 1978 (my birth year). Because it's not easily replaced and wasn't exactly cheap, it only gets carried on special occasions.

I have a couple of trads with G-10 covers. I had another decked out in Kirinite (which is now one of Aloha's favorites). Some trads can be had with more modern steels. So, as I see it, it's strictly the pattern.
I do enjoy a good pork chop!
Is that oak? Whatever wood was used, it's a fine-looking Opinel! :tu:
This is a Olive wood handle Opinel. The scent in the wood is real nice

Where you aware that George Mallory carried a Lambsfoot on his Everest attempt?

Day 08:

Carrying a Stockman in the usual manner of well-bred, well-educated gentlepersons.........

I think Auntie was absolutely right. Townsend wrote that back in 1958, so I'm a bit surprised that Auntie's querry wasn't extended to cover the fairer sex, too. Maybe Auntie was teaching at a boys' school. These days I suspect the teacher wiuold be asking about knife carry for very different reasons.... *** sigh ***
