Day 06
I used the Spyderco Dragonfly to open a package containing new pants with lots of pockets.  While not actually cargo pants, the Carhartt carpenter pants have extra pockets on the leg that will fit a knife or a cell phone and other things and I plan to wear them this month loaded to the scuppers.  I also ordered another pair of Duluth fire hose flex pants which should arrive on Monday.

No problem! I think the OEM is Besttech and it's commissioned/sold by a UK start up called Twisted Assisted, they aim to bring UK legal options at more reasonable prices. It's VG-10 steel with carbon fibre scales and came with a cheap and cheerful leather slip with a pocket clip on it.

Price wise it's £45 for the CF, £40 for a G10 scaled version, but blemished version are available for £30 and £25 respectively. I paid about £40 for mine, since they give about a fiver discount on preorders for new products. Here's the link:

Day 6

I lightened my load for the weekend by exchanging the ST200 for my Pulse and ditching the Nite Ize pouch and cable splicer knife:

(Image removed from quote.)
I don't own a LM Pulse, and it is probably discontinued now.  How do you like it versus other LM that you own?

Day 6
I changed up the MT, Fixi, and folder, with everything else the same.  Today was Spirit, small Cripple Creek (GEC 14) and a Bark River Mountaineer II.

The ferro rod I keep in the knife sheath and the Mountaineer helped make some coffee to start the day then popcorn as a snack
(Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)
Like the profile of Mountaineer II, and seems like a great user.  Is that Corporal's recipe for the popcorn?

The small blade on the vintage cadet is really dull, so dull that I have to resort to other tool to help unboxing this fountain pen nib.
Swap in the Boker Urban Trapper for my folding knife, and use it for coffee duty.  I love the slender profile of this knife, and it is a really ultra light weight knife.  And unlike many of its counterparts, it does not use IBIS(loose bearing balls) but caged bearing.

Boker Urban Trapper

I've had one of those in my Amazon shopping cart several times, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.  Sometimes, just placing it in the cart is enough to satisfy for a little while my desire to buy.

I find the carrying of the bandana (in my case, a microfiber) to be the "worst" part, but it rides fairly unobtrusively in one of the many cargo pockets of my usual 5.11 Tac-lite pro pants.

i3T might be up your alley if you like AAA-sized lights  :tu:

That light was originally a Christmas gift for SurgeUK, but Amazon smurfed up and he ended up with two for the price of one! Happy to see it spread to another quality member  :tu: It's a cracking little light with great output for the size
I'll have to check out the i3T. And I sure am pleased to be thought of as a quality member!

I don't own a LM Pulse, and it is probably discontinued now.
It's been discontinued for quite some time. Mine is a 04/01. If it had an awl and a wood saw, it would be dang near perfection. The rocker lock is a neat design.

Great loadouts from awl! :tu:

Day 7

Bandana, dedicated knife, and marble changed again (as they will on every odd-numbered day). The Olight got a lanyard (a scaffold knot bracelet hitched through the key ring). The lighter, Classic SD, and a paracord smoothing tool were uses to make the lanyard. That addition means the Olight can safely shift to pocket 7.

Day 6

Not much to report beyond the everyday uses of the everyday carry.
Nails filed, stuff slashed open, bits of wood sawn and filed, dark places lit in the evening... swap snotty hank for clean one, same colour as all the others. I'm really not sure if I should be taking pictures of all this, or not.

Most of the day was spent at a local pub with some other people who have kids, on a sort of play-date thing.
Ours got their first set of 2-way radios, so of course that meant Daddy gets to fit the batteries and spend the next half hour making sure they work...!

Day 7

Even less to report today.
Bit of a picnic, followed by a trip to IKEA for some random junk that She wanted.
Couple of EDC moments while sorting the picnic out, mainly SAK duty for cutting food up, but with hands full doing that and handling sharp blades with kids nearby, getting a pic was not an option... and She thinks it's all a bit weird, TBH.

IKEA did present an interesting situation, as the mini-trolley is designed to hold one child and one suspended IKEA bag, which means  it cannot hold the items we were buying without them simply falling out the trolley.... I let Her Ladyship struggle for the 30-seconds or so it took me to stop laughing at her plight, before cracking out some of that paracord I mentioned, whacking a simple lash on and solving the whole issue.

 :salute:
That is ironic, because a bandana is part of my normal edc.

It is usually in my cargo pocket.  But on hot summer day it will frequently be tied around my neck with a narrow ice pack inside.

Day 07
Made some changes for the second week of the challenge.  I'm now carrying the CT-41 instead of the Swiss Champ, and I've switched out the Korean Zippo for a real one.  I'm calling the pipe smoker's knife made by Medico Japan my fidget (at least for today) and I've switched out the standard white handkerchief for the blue bandana with illustrated fishing knots.  Second photo is the fixed blade knife du jour, The Wissahickon Critter, which I may carry for a few days while I have the opportunity.

Yeah, I just never use a bandana for anything. I formerly used one as a "sleeping helmet", with the bandana pulled down over my eyes.   But I don't think I've ever used a bandana other than that for any reason.  I do like to keep ~12" x 12" microfiber cloths handy for cleaning phone screens, laptops, the console in the vehicle, etc.

Ruike 801-SF is a budget knife masquerading as a higher end blade.  Sporting 14C28N steel and an extremely smooth flipper action, the 801-SF imparts a feel of quality not often found in $30 knives.

That's another one that I was comparing to when I got this one.  What I love about them are the options for different length and material, and best part of it, no loose bearing balls(which for whatever reason, most counterparts offered by other makers use that)

Just realized most of the sharps I carry are kinda dull--the urban trapper is new but it too is dull.  So a full on sharpening session for all these edc knives awaiting.  The vintage cadet came straight from collection, so more TLC would be needed besides the sharpening.

Luckily, the 91mm Mountaineer is one of my most used EDC, and a few strop brings it back to receipt paper shaving sharp.

A few changes.  The pouch with MT, flashlight, 84mm SAK, lighter and sanitary items stayed the same.  The folding knife was changed to a Shirogorov and the 91mm SAK is a mountaineer.  For the fixi, I changed to a mini breacher, which does have a blade just not a sharp one.  With all the other various blades and being in an urban environment, the breacher bar has the potential to be more useful and less threatening than a standard fixed blade.  The bandana was actually two today one of which was used post gun range with some water and a soap sheet to wash off.
