Sorr I've been more quiet lately folks, the current heatwave has been kicking my butt. It's been 85F+ in my home for the last couple days day and night.
If such a venture weren't so fraught with problems, and I had the money, I'd send a pallet of window air-con units to y'awl in the UK.

:like: that Zippo, though it's not one I'd carry. I wonder what part of Truxtun you'll receive if she's scrapped.
Probably the bicycle mount that I had installed in the XO stateroom.

That does look like it would carry nicely and at a nice price, but it might be too big for the BR Essential, which is almost identical in size to Izula.  I may try to use something to carry the Essential horizontal tomorroe.
The picture is my Isula II in the Bradford sheath. If your BR Essential is the same size as the Isula is should fit nicely.

No changes today.  I noticed that the Mora Eldris and the Spyderco Dragonfly are pretty much the same size.

She took a pretty damn good photo. Many adults can't do that well!
To be fair, she took about 20, and this is one of three that were in pretty good focus. She also took several shots up her sister's nose, and a couple of three-second videos, but I understand that method is also how professional photographers capture the winning shots of babies!!

I've been known to open cans with pull tabs from the bottom just so I can use a multi's can opener. :D
Some you can (pun intended) do that with, but others have rounded rims so they stack more securely. The rounded bottom sits inside the flat-rimmed tops, y'see.
But I'm lucky in that, in this modern age where everyone asks me why I carry a SAK when all cans are ring-pulls, about 90% of the canned stuff we buy has no such thing!!  :2tu:

If such a venture weren't so fraught with problems, and I had the money, I'd send a pallet of window air-con units to y'awl in the UK.
You get a pallet of them to me safely, I'll get you a whole pallet of correctly sized brass rods!!

Powernoodle Day 12

I could make it through most days just fine with just a 58mm and a micro light.  But that's not as fun as having loaded pockets.  Nitecore Tube and Victorinox Manager shown.

Day 12
Comis's Brisa and coffee picture inspired me to switch back to my Brisa Necker 70 for the day.  The Bobtail 80 and the Necker 70 are essentially the same knife with a slightly different handle.  I might have bought the Bobtail if I'd seen it first, although, I really like the Necker 70 in red.  I especially like to play with the octopus/Kraken bead I have on the lanyard.  So, even though I have my SAK Knights coins in the picture, my fidget for the day is the brass Kraken bead.

Day 12

Once more, WFH and so nothing doing.
I don't drink at all, and the Mrs usually goes for something with screw caps or very occasionally corkscrews, but she does also tend to use her own Mountaineer for that.
So it is a considerable rarity that I've actually gotten to use the bottle opener today:

However... some bright spark decided it'd be a fantastic idea to go out in the baking hot weather tomorrow, surround ourselves with sweaty tourists, and subject Tasky to the EDCectomy that is Windsor Castle Security...... Now, this basically means you can have NOTHING with a blade or cutting feature, not even scissors.

IMO, this would invalidate my entry in this event, as I'd not be carrying half the kit required by the challenge... so if GearedForwards judges that to be so, I will bow out and wish the rest of you the best of luck.

Agree.  Most days a 58mm and flashlight would do just fine, which is why both are on my keyrings.

That's a knife that begs to be put to work! :tu:

The whole pallet of properly sized brass rods sounds good...but getting a pallet of window air-con units to the UK is very problematic. Different plugs, 50 vs. 60 Hz, and hugely expensive shipping costs (one of mine weighs awlmost 100 smurfing pounds!) pretty well rule out anything I could buy locally. Can one even find window air-con units in the UK?

As usual, great photos from awl! :tu:

Day 12

No changes to the loadout, but the SAK wood saw proved yet again that it's worth far more than its weight in gold.

I love MTs with saws, but I have never tried out the SAK wood saw. One day I am going to have to get a Huntsman or a FX. They both look appealing to me.

Sure that was in jest, Tasky, but that's an urban myth nonetheless. Professional photographers usually know what they're doing. "Spray & pray" is rather the  amateur way.
Best regards and stay safe,

So far today, I've used the Explorer Plus to kill two boxes, open another box and a 40 pound bag of dog food for John Adams.

Day 13

I took my grandson to my dad's house for some fishing and to ride on his battery powered dirt bike. Extra batteries came along in case they were needed, which requires a hex bit driver to change out. This is what I loaded in my pockets to cover any contingency:

No use for any of my carry today, but I managed to take a picture of the 58mm & 84mm SAKs when I got home.  It's going to be another long day tomorrow too.

Day 13
For the fun of it, I decided to change out about half of myitems today:
- Dedicated Knives - Bark River Mountaineer II and Case Canoe
- Dedicated Flashlight - RovyVon A8x (same) and Lumitop EDC
- Lighter/matches - Black Ice Zippo
- Hankerchief or Bandana - Zion NP Bandana
- 93mm or 91mm SAK - 93mm Voyageur
- 84mm or 85 SAK - SwissBuck

Items that remained same
- Pliers-based Multitool  - Spirit
- Dedicated Pen - Titaner
- Watch - Phone
- Fidget or memento - Bataan Coin
- Sanitary item e.g. hand sanitiser, sheet soap, coin towel - sanitizing wipes, soap sheets and Coin Towel
- 58mm or 74mm SAK - Rambler

Forgot to put the Zippo in the group photo, so here it is from coffee making

As far as 58mm and 2nd flashlight, at one point I had three of each due to having all 3 sets of keys while doing yard work and moving vehicles.  This is the set that was in my pocket most of the day.

Killing boxes is an awlmost daily thing for me.

Seems a little inconvenient. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

Nice selections! :tu:

Day 13

The usual suspects changed today. The knife is a Gerber 625 gifted to me by Aloha. Were it city-compliant, I'd carry it a lot more.

Great work everyone, and don't worry about security Tasky, that doesn't disqualify you! As long as you carry as much as you legally and safely can, you are good with the challenge  :tu:

Day 12

In an effort to avoid using the oven as much as possible quite a bit of take out has been consumed recently. The Sukhoi dealt with cutting up some bbq chicken goodness:

The hand sanitiser worked well afterwards at cleaning the blade without lingering bbq sauce smell.

Day 13

Decided to try a 'catch (almost) all' pouch carry, throwing most things into the Firefly 15 pouch with the rest going in my pockets, the watch on the wrist and hand gel on my belt loop. It worked really well, the pouch wasn't stuffed full, and it carried really flat in the pocket despite the amount of gear and additional notepad. The fidget for the day was the Zippo slim (now empty from evaporation) whilst the Bic contingent stepped up to fire duty.
