Day 6

Grabbed last year's LE Pioneer X today. Not quite a shelf queen, it does see some pocket time. I do always put it back in the box when I'm done with it. I'm sure eventually I'll get tired of the extra space it takes up and stash it with the others.

SAKtember Day 7

Today I'm wearing a SAK inside a custom sheath I bought from a guy on a Bushcraft site.
It holds a Vagabond that I've named Midnite Vagabond since I put the while LED scales on it from a Midnite Manager.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

Day 8, September 8

This Vic is one that’s guaranteed to be used at least once a week - the nail clip!

Part of the Vic lineup is this sharpening tool. The blade of the nail clip somehow isn’t as factory sharp as I’m used to, hence I decided to link it with a small accessory to help it along the way.

You could narrow date down further by checking for the locking nub on the large SD.
Will do! I'll check every other SAK I have that fits in that range, too.

The Backpacker II from Wenger was extremely popular.
:like: I awlso have a Backpacker II. Mine has the corkscrew and a plain edge non-locking blade.

It holds a Vagabond that I've named Midnite Vagabond since I put the while LED scales on it from a Midnite Manager.
Did the Vagabond originally come without electronics, and if so, how hard was that swap?

Day 7

Def's intention behind SAKtember seems to be promoting the Wiki. I was surprised to see that the Wounded Warrior Project SAKs, such as this Fieldmaster, are not mentioned therein.

The Vagabond never came with electronics from what I understand.  The swap was not difficult, just have to be careful and they do pry up fairly easy.
I have found the 58mm scales to come off easier than the 91mm, but maybe I was just lucky, I don't credit it to skill.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

Day 8

Double BYSAKs, my wife's 86 and my 89. Unlike the last few days, these see a fair amount of use. I think I'll always be more of a 91mm guy, but it's nice to have something slim and sturdy in your pocket sometimes. I do much prefer the hollow rivet to the key ring.

Did it come that way, or is that a DIY?

It's funny, that's exactly why I have an Outdoorsman. I feel like the pliers take up a lot of space/weight for a tool I don't use that much.
Yes Sir BPR I was right there with you until recently acquiring this twig stove call the Firebox I’m finding myself using it quite a bit and the pliers really help to move the stove when it’s hot awlso keep my hands free of soot. Since then I just find myself using those pliers more and more.
Still really fond of the Outdoorsman though- it’s the most near perfect width and toolset of any model me thinks

SAKtember Day 8

Decided it was time to bring out the SwissChamp since I generally carry a 58mm or a slimmer 91mm.

I've always loved those scales on your Swisschamp Lisa!  They make perfect sense in a survival knife.   :tu:

Are they custom scales or scales from another model fitted to your SwissChamp?

At one time an eBay seller was selling just the glow scales, so I bought a set.

Day 8

This Wenger has an array of names. Another thing I've not found on the SAKWiki is a Wenger tang stamp guide. Fortunately, LeaF (with some help from ulli and elsinox) has that covered.

Day 9, September 9

At first I was bothered that the tools in a SwissTool are just the same ones (at least in my eyes) in a 91mm SAK.  I was expecting something….different? Bigger? New?

Then I saw people purposely placing 91mm Scissors in their MT’s — in fact it’s a rather popular LM mod.  So I found myself circling back to the original tool with built-in 91mm scissors.

DAY 06 & 07
I’ve been out exploring and got a wee bit behind.
For day 6 and then day 7 it was a white camper and a black executive  8)
The vintage white camper was a gift from my sweetheart so it doesn’t get too much use as it came with the original box and it’s just so pretty I have not had the urge to scratch it up. The 1996 Olympic black executive on the other hand I got on eBay for $20 it awlso was in the original packaging but was not in mint condition I know that I should probably preserve it however it’s just such a cool knife I can’t keep from carrying it sometimes.

Some really great posts and pictures here!   :salute:
