RIP Loretta Lynn

Country music legend Loretta Lynn passed away today at 90 years old.

For those not familiar, Loretta was one of the greatest country singers at a time when Country and Western music was very far from mainstream, and without greats like her, it's hard to tell where the genre would be today. 

There are some of you (like me) that were raised in certain places, where country music wasn't just the mainstream, but was largely the only stream, but remember, this is an international forum, and country music hasn't strayed too far out of North America.     

She passed peacefully at home on her ranch, and I can't think of a better way to end a six decade career. 

RIP Loretta.

It's certainly sad to hear of her death.  Seems that all of the people that I listened to when I was younger are passing and there's no one that can replace them.
