It was that "lethal weapon" thing that bugged me, then they added the law thing in there.

So it means it's okay for some, but no candle for you.

Hey, does that mean you cannot go to the office during flue season as you might unknowingly carry a lethal biological weapon :P

When I was working at Qantas they had posters on the walls advising of their seven golden rules, which could result in dismissal if you broke them.
One was "No bringing weapons to work". The picture attached to that rule included people with a gun, a knife and A SPANNER. 
Makes it a bit hard to fix airplanes if you aren't allowed to bring spanners to work.  :facepalm:

Given the nature of airplanes and the potential liability, I was under the impression that airlines supplied all the tools so they have control over the specifications and can dispose of worn/damaged/unacceptable ones?
