Well it'd have to be a Carbon steel, as like it or not, Stainless lacks the elasticity for out and out strenght (12-27C excepted) so 1095, Carbon V or a similar steel, but definetly not D2!

Yep I'd say so, but then what pivot material would you use (Titanuim being a bit too soft imo)

They are the best built knife if the world! They're ain't pretty, and they dont have a smooth action, but if you want a knife that you can count on to not fail you when you need it most, buy a Strider.

This SNG would be my choice for you.
