*Day 25*

(Image removed from quote.)

Inspired by MrToolJunkie's post, I brought out the LM bit adapter to play with the Spirit.  It's not a perfect fit and has some side to side play, but it would work in a pinch.

Another neat tool that I recently acquired is the 711 mini ratchet.  The LM adapter weighs about 14 grams, and 711 rachet is just 6 grams more but is more versatile for a light job by itself.  One could apply more torque if used with the Spirit phillips.

:like: ...I don't have the LM adapter and wondered it it would work. Might need to buy one and try it out.

Day 25

Today's carry.  MXBS and Alox 7... since the MXBS does not have a saw.

That's a great combination!  The Alox knives are so thin you don't even notice they're in your pocket!

Gotta say I’m pretty happy with adding a clip to the Spirit. Painless to carry. No use today, but nice to know it’s there if I need it. Been leaving the Spydie at home more and more. I don’t need OHO as much as I thought. Carry pic for fun.

Day 25: Pocket dump EDC wise for me.  It's habit to carry an Opinel but it's not seeing any use.  I really enjoy the Spirit's blade! :multi:

Opinel cameo day?

Day 25

Repositioned a board going into a raised bathroom. It’s essentially an access panel at the front of the step into the room. The board was never attached and had bent rusty nails sticking out just waiting to go into mine or my kids feet if it falls over. Spirit and hammer took care of it.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Also opened a can of baked beans for supper, but was told by my kid, “no pictures just cook please.”  He was hungry   They know dad spends too much time on the forum.

Tools used thus far:
Serrated blade x2
Scissors x8
Pliers x10
Saw x4
Spear point blade x9
Phillips x7
Pry bar x7
2mm flathead x3
Wire cutters x1
Package opener x5
Wire scraper x1
Wire stripper x1
Awl x3
File x2
Can opener x2

Day 25
I have been scrambling today! No actual use to report involving the Spirit☺️
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

My issue, I had an alert to confirm a flight for tomorrow 🙄 I thought it was Saturday!!!

The checkin could not be completed, an international flight and checkin must be done in person. To verify my passport.

The Spirit will not be making the trip🥹, so my 60 day quest ends today.  I do have a 30 day challenge under my belt. So will have to try again.  I will continue to monitor and contribute as I was just getting use to not opening the handles to access any of the tools😉

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

It's funny you say that Roc.  Except for some unique circumstances, I actually don't really need oho that often myself.  I'm getting pretty decent at opening the tools on the Spirit one handed.  The thing I don't remember being an issue before is having short nails and not being able to get to the nail nicks easily

It definitely does work, but it is not the perfect fit.  Just need to put some tape in it to remove the excess play, nothing duct tape cannot fix.  :D

I used to carry an OHO folder long ago before joining MTO, but all the challenges here have me convinced that OHO is not a necessity I need, but it is just nice to have.

Spirit unbox a Kizer Drop bear and Fox Vulpis, I am rather surprised to see how well made and thought out is the Vulpis.  Haven't put it to use just yet, but I surely love what I see.  A real strong candidate as 74mm replacement, since Vic is planning to discontinue them.

Day 26

Love the idea of an Opinel cameo. The No. 6 and Spirit butter blade made breakfast this morning. Having the Opinel for a few months now I do enjoy it for food prep and prefer it over the Solo I was using. We may be investing in the kitchen set to replace some of our older paring and steak knives.

I keep my nails short. I don’t like using a nail nick with long nails. I was always taught to leave a 16th of an inch of white when you trim your nails. Maybe that makes the difference. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyway, cut some para for my Olight with the scissors. Perfect length for the knot to stick out of my coin pocket.

Hoping to see more models using Precious Alox, surprised we haven’t tbh as it’s been a while since the classic models were released

:like:  I think that's exactly what Vic had in mind with these scissors.  A bit stronger for the heavy duty work.  I'd love to chat with the designer to get their input.  It's strange that they only wound up on the Spirit. It would seem like they'd be on the bigger Swisstool too.
