A Dime a Day
on: July 14, 2023, 06:29:16 PM
I just got back from a week long camping trip. My 10+ year old Dime (never resharpened!) was always in my pocket.

I used it for opening a lot of food packaging, many bottle tops  :drink:, and the pliers for a variety of tasks. However the best was using the scissors to strip an old tent awning of usable clips and guy ropes.

Cutting through the synthetic webbing took about 5 scissor presses each but it handled all with ease.

I know it's not the best mini-MT out there but it is to me! :)

I think mini multitools are underrated. I do not have a Dime yet, but I bought the LM Squirt mostly as a gimmick. It has proved useful a number of times while travelling.

I just joined the Dime club! Couldn't resist a good sale at 40% off. So far really like it except the file is a joke. Otherwise everything else is useful and works well.  I love the bottle opener and the main blade.  The scissors and sprung pliers are nice too. Will see if durability is ever an issue.

Possibly you could replace that implement with sak 58mm scissors

I'm going to give this thread a bump, since I'm about to go into 30 days with my own Dime for the Keychain  Pliers Challenge.

Thanks Barry, It was a piece of scrap parachord I had lying around.  I have different colors  to choose from, but I am liking the black so it will stay.

I've carried my Dime since 2019 almost every day. Paired with a small flashlight it makes a great EDC

I agree.  It's held up really well!  Mine is a 2024 model that looks rough already.
I like mine.  It gets the job done!  That's a nice combo you have Charlie.

The best multitool is the one you have with you!

I really like the Dime too- other than the Micra it's probably my favorite keychain tool!
