I just heard about this- Paul Reubens, best known as Pee Wee Herman has passed away after a private boutique with cancer.  He was 70.

The Word of the Day for today is Goodbye.  We will miss you Spleen.

This one hits harder than it should - Mr. Reubens was a genuinely decent guy (he did like his porn, but NOT the type they tried to hang on him); I was on his protective detail many years ago while he was travelling with Pee Wee's Playhouse - he was always friendly and never had a bad word to say. He also always made sure we were taken care of with food and such (Craft Services rocked!)

I know this hits especially hard, told my wife that I feel like little by little my childhood is disappearing and all I'll have is memories. The PeeWee playhouse and the movies were awesome and he's was right up there with Jim Varney

I worked on his detail for about a month and a half - there were three of us and he always made sure we were taken care of. We had the best seats in the house too ;)
