I just realized I have an Italian folder - Lionsteel, I think they call it Daghetta now, in D2 and G10, with a weird lock that (apparently) their new models don't have. I'm a Spyderco man with some Cold Steels, there are very few other brands in my rotation. But I flew to Vienna with just my carry on bag so I didn't have a knife on me. The first shop that had folders had this, and the rest was basically junk. It was simple and very solid, so when I left, I mailed it to myself. The lock is kinda gimmicky, the spring very stiff (making it practically a two-hand opener when new, it took ages to break it in), clip not very useful, G10 very abrasive, but with steel liners and 3mm stabby blade, I like it!

I also have an old double edged Fox dagger with a Ka-Bar type handle, and a Kukri Light which is decent for chopping.
Spydies and Vics and Leathermans, Oh My!

That Lionsteel looks like a cross-bar lock, ever since the patent on them expired all the manufacturers have jumped on the bandwagon.

Is it me, or has CRKT like really stepped up their game in the last year? All the sudden the company starts making extremely high end folders and fixed blades. The are amazing for the money compared to what the customs go for. The Michael Walker collabs and then this year we have damasteel/fat carbon, what's going on at CRKT?

I’m glad to see it.  I’ve long thought that, historically, they had some cool and innovative designs but went a little too cheap on the manufacturing to make them worthwhile.

I think so too, awesome designs over the decades but often fell short due using cheaper materials. I think what they're doing fits in with today's market, so many people are willing to drop $$$ on knives, because it's got a name connected to it like MK it's even more desirable
